With The Pauly D Project premiering Thursday on MTV, the cast stopped by Us Weekly's New York City offices Wednesday to dish on their raucous first season.

"The whole world, they know me from Jersey Shore. They know I can party in Jersey with some strangers that become my friends, but now with my show, you get to see where I came from, you get to meet my family, my friends, and see what it's like on a daily basis being a touring DJ," Paul "DJ Pauly D" DelVecchio, 31, said.

DelVecchio and his pals are so close that they got matching tattoos on their palms. (The show also features Ryan Labbe, Gerard "Big Gerry" Gialanella, Jason "J-Rock" Craig and Michael "DJ Biggie" Morgan.)

Explained Labbe: "It's a bonding thing. Pauly has the fist-pump, J-Rock had the handclap, so now we've got the open-handed fist-pump."

Craig then interrupted his pal and told Us: "Ryan wanted to take a knife and slit hands and do blood brothers, but we figured we'd just [get tattoos] instead."

The first season of their MTV reality show will also feature the boys looking for love (with the exception of Morgan, who is married). "There is a better caliber of girls in Vegas than there are in Seaside," DelVecchio laughed.

Added Craig: "It's kind of like the pros. . .Seaside's like Little League."
