Who's getting thrown off a bridge? The Real Housewives of Potomac premieres on Bravo on Sunday, January 17, and the series' cast tells Us Weekly exclusively about the heated battles that await viewers in the first season.
The latest installment in Bravo's popular unscripted franchise is set in tony Potomac, Maryland, just up the river from the nation's capital. The six women starring on the series are Gizelle Bryant, Katie Rost, Karen Huger, Charrisse Jackson-Jordan, Robyn Dixon and Ashley Darby.
Huger is a mother of two, and her story arc centers on her youngest child turning 18 and heading to college. When asked by Us to name her biggest enemy on the show, Karen says, "I would say at this point it would have to be Gizelle, just because we’re both very strong, confident women, and everybody wants to be the diva on top. I just happen to be it."
For her part, Bryant — a single mom of three who will do a fair amount of dating this season — confesses to Us that she has had plenty of friction with her costars.
Regarding who her nemesis is, she says with a laugh, "Probably all of them, except for Robyn. I think Katie towards the end of the season probably wanted to throw me over a bridge. But Katie is just somebody I didn’t get to know as well as others, so in us not knowing each other that well, I think she probably wants to throw me in a trash can."
Darby — who is 27 and married to 57-year-old Michael — admits she was nervous about joining the show as the youngest Housewife. Indeed, she feels that Bryant was not particularly welcoming.
"Especially in the beginning, Gizelle – I feel like she judged me a little bit harshly when she met me, and I had to really stand my ground and show her that she couldn’t roll over me," Darby says. "I had to have some backbone."
