The Voice Season 8 Semifinalists Revealed! Who Made the Top 5 and Who Went Home?

Meghan Linsey, India Carney, Kimberly Nichole, Koryn Hawthorne, Sawyer
The Voice narrowed down its singers to the top 5 on May 5.

Keeping it in the family! Tuesday's The Voice results show was more of a homecoming concert than anything else, with artists from four previous seasons taking the stage to showcase their latest tracks.

Team Christina Aguilera alum and season 5 finalist Jacquie Lee opened the show with her latest single, co-written by Sia, “Tears Fall,” before host Carson Daly announced Sawyer Fredericks from Team Pharrell Williams as the first artist to make it into the semifinals.

None other than Clive Davis himself introduced the second returning artist, Team CeeLo Green’s season 3 competitor Avery Wilson with his latest, “If I Have To.” Daly followed the performance by announcing the second saved artist of the night, Team Blake Shelton’s Meghan Linsey.

A second Team CeeLo alum and one of The Voice’s original competitors, Vicci Martinez debuted her new single, “Bad News Breaker,” reminding viewers of the talent that has crossed The Voice stage since its first season.

The next artist to make it into the semifinals was Koryn Hawthorne, making all remaining artists on Team Pharrell safe for this week.

Although this season’s only country artist was sent home last week, The Voice stage couldn’t go a week without a country song. Season 7 winner Craig Wayne Boyd performed “I’m Still Here,” a song he wrote while on Team Blake last season.

Following the positive performance, Team Adam Levine’s Joshua Davis was named the final artist to make it through to the semifinals based on America’s votes. This left both of Team Christina’s remaining artists, India Carney and Kimberly Nichole, to sing for the instant Twitter Save.

Carney, singing for the save for the second week in a row, sang first with Pink’s “Perfect,” followed by Nichole’s version of The White Stripes’ “Seven Nation Army.” The powerhouse vocalists split the votes at an even 50/50 as the Twitter graphic disappeared from the screen.

In the end, Daly announced Carney as the final artist moving on to the semifinals, concluding Nichole’s time on this season of The Voice.

Despite going home, Nichole told Us Weekly she remains thankful for the time she had on The Voice. “Every week I find a new inspiration to really just continue to live my dreams and be who I am in my truest, most raw form on this stage,” Nichole confessed after Monday night’s performance. “I always try to be Kimberly Nichole and always try to have a good time and stay in a mind of being grateful for the opportunity to perform on any stage."
