This Is Us fans know what they like — and what they don’t. And basically, their dislikes can be described by one word: Miguel

Deserved or not, many viewers of the NBC drama are just having a hard time warming up to the character, played by Jon Huertas, and they’re getting increasingly vocal about their feelings with each passing episode.

Judging just by the show’s flashback scenes to previous decades, Miguel seems like a perfectly decent guy, offering career advancement and marital advice to his best pal, Jack (Milo Ventimiglia).

Of course, things get sticky when the present-day action comes into play, which reveals that Miguel is currently married to Rebecca (Mandy Moore), who had previously been raising three kids with husband Jack.

The Tuesday, November 15, episode provided yet more fodder for fans’ Miguel-centric ire. A scene from the 1990s showed Miguel getting flirty with a receptionist, which Twitter users did not appreciate.

And you might think the present-day reveal that he suffers from gout would earn the character some sympathy points, but nope. It just made some fans wish that he would have been the guy who dies, instead of Jack (whose cause and time of death is not yet known but is clearly devastating).

So when did Miguel start making his move on Rebecca? And how could he do that to his best friend? And oh, what even happened to Miguel’s own wife and kids? Fans don’t know, but they need answers fast, or else they’re going to continue to threaten even more bodily harm to the poor guy than they already have.
