The doctor is in! Tim Curry, who starred in the original film version of Rocky Horror Picture Show, is returning for Fox’s TV remake, the network announced Friday, January 15.
The 69-year-old veteran actor will play the Criminologist Narrator, with the news coming at the Television Critics Association’s winter press tour in Pasadena, California. The character, played by Charles Gray in the 1975 cult film, provides vocals for the chorus of the show’s signature song, “The Time Warp.”
Curry joins a cast that already includes Laverne Cox as Dr. Frank-N-Furter, Victoria Justice as Janet, Ryan McCarten as Brad, Reeve Carney as Riff Raff and Adam Lambert as Eddie.
Curry himself starred as Dr. Frank-N-Furter in the original film, marking his breakout turn. He is also known for such movies as Clue and Home Alone 2, and has had recurring roles on TV series including Criminal Minds and Will & Grace.
Rocky Horror, a two-hour taped production, is set to air in fall 2016 on Fox.
