They just want to have fun! Rita Wilson is living it up with her ladies in her new “Girls Night In” music video, much to the surprise of husband Tom Hanks.
The Good Wife actress, 58, returned to the mic for the poppy new track, her first since her debut 2012 studio album AM/FM. The fun country-influenced number has Wilson crooning about the importance of quality time with girlfriends, and she enlisted her real-life besties for the song’s accompanying music video.
“Turn up the beat / kick up your heels / go ahead and let your hair down,” Hanks’ longtime love belts. “Hell of a day / I need me a night to get crazy / Nobody here to tell us to act like ladies / Hey ladies!”
While she sings, Wilson is shown getting prepped for her evening with the gals, as she opens bottles of wine, primps, and plays music. The bevy of girlfriends includes the actress’ close pal Sara Bareilles, who clinks glasses with the other ladies and plays guitar.
The women continue to party down, getting crazier as the night goes on. They’re so wrapped up in their girls’ night that they don’t even notice when Hanks, 58, comes home and looks flabbergasted by the scene. The Oscar winner quickly puts his hat back on and slips quietly out the door.
After the video dropped this week, Wilson got major support from her celebrity pals on social media.
