I don't have a drug issue but know alot of people that do. It's still sad when someone dyes. Addiction is a disease. I really feel for her family. She is in Peace now, finally. Her family will suffer for along time. Very sad no matter how you look at it, if you have any compassion. Not just for her but the millions of people that battle this disease on a daily basis.

To Martin Kinard. You are right in everything you just said. I had a friend that lived with us for the last two yrs. She was addicted to perscition drugs that the Drs. kept giving her. Now she is in a mental ward/rehab. But it's not going to do her any good unless she want to be cured. Dollar to one, she will be right back doing it again. Some things never change, and the starving children here in America's doors step won't change either.

I have NO sympathy for this woman. She had it all: money and fame and apparently, family. SHE threw it all away because she was "poor pitiful" when what she actually was, was a spoiled kid who imagined that life was so hard and she wasn't much more than a common drug addict. I know that will not be a popular stance to take, but the reality of it is, she died of a drug overdose and the only person who took the drugs was AMY WINEHOUSE, period. She may well have been a popular singer with a wealth of talent, but she was mentally unstable and emotionally immature; and I have no real problem with her death. Now, what I DO have a problem with is the death of innocent children who are dying by the thousands in Africa, what I DO have is a problem with the number of children in the US who go to bed hungry or without healthcare every day.

It doesnt matter what she was doing in her life. Whether she made good choices or bad ones. None of us have room to judge. Her vice may have been drugs but we all have one. Be it drugs, alcohol, over eating, gambling and the list goes on. The most important thing is that a life has been lost and that is the point. Some of you should be ashamed of yourselves for the comments left. This could have been your daughter, sister, neice, friend or loved one. Sensitivity to her family and privacy is what they need the most in their time of sorrow. Thin how some of you would feel if it were you.

Leave it to Tony Bennett to say it best! RIP Amy. I wasn't a tremendous fan but I know talent when I hear it (if it isn't the genre I lean toward). I choose to believe there is a Heaven and I hope you are at peace singing your heart out finally free of whatever was holding you down all these years. Hope you are at peace.
