"Too Emotional" Rachelle Lefevre Skips New Moon Premiere

One vampire who was noticeably absent from Monday's New Moon premiere in Los Angeles? Rachelle Lefevre, who stars in the film franchise as evil vampire Victoria.
Though Lefevre appeared in the first and second film installments of the franchise, Bryce Dallas Howard was recast in her role for the upcoming Eclipse, which wrapped production earlier this month in Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada.

Lefevre says her red carpet absenteeism comes with good reason.
"2 fans at the premiere: w/ Honey in hospital & being fired from Eclipse tonight was just 2 emotional 4 me & I couldn't manage it," the actress wrote on her Twitter page Monday. "So sorry." (Honey is the actress' dog)

At the time of her role's recasting in July, Lefevre admitted she was "stunned" by Summit Entertainment's decision, which they said was motivated by scheduling conflicts. Both Eclipse and the actress' new film, Barney's Version, began filming on the same day.
"I was fully committed to the Twilight saga, and to the portrayal of Victoria," Lefevre said. "I turned down several other film opportunities and, in accordance with my contractual rights, accepted only roles that would involve very short shooting schedules.
"My commitment to [indie flick] Barney's Version is only 10 days. Summit picked up my option for Eclipse. Although the production schedule for Eclipse is over three months long, Summit said they had a conflict during those ten days and would not accommodate me. Given the length of filming for Eclipse, never did I fathom I would lose the role over a 10-day overlap," Lefevre continued.
Barney's Version is set for release next year.

I totally hate it when stuff like this happens. It totally just messed up the rest of the saga. Rachelle is the only Victoria. Bryce Dallas is okay and all but seriously. Summit you messed up big time. I can truly say that as a huge twilight fan, I am not wanting to see Eclipse. Way to go Summit, you're losing a few fans from this decision.
Man, this sucks. Rachelle fit the look of Victoria. This Bryce chick doesn't really cut it for me. And if what Kathleen Collins says is true, that's just plain wrong! Hopefully she doesn't f**k it up.
You guys really should give Bryce a chance! She is an amazing actress and I am sure that you all will love her.
either the scummit moles are still trolling the internet to say nasty things about Rachelle and negatively impact her career or some of you people are just NASTY and clearly envious of the actress. . .goodness knows why. . .did she steal your job from you? Too cute? Too nice? Did she do too much charity work? Too down to earth? Not a Paris/Brittney/Lindsay nightmare? By the way, all her dialogue scenes were cut from New Moon by Scummit---they were the screen writers favorite scenes (she said so in an interview) and they were cut no doubt due to Summit's pettiness. I've read all the reviews, you know how harsh they are about Twilight etc. The only well reviewed scene in the whole film, by virtually every review, is the dialogue-free action scene with Rachelle. She has 2 other non-twilight movies coming out soon, granted they are not block-buster or tween films. But ultimately, Talent will out. And may all you nasty posters get the karmic nastiness directed right back at you.

Rachelle is 2 good for this movie. She will be on to bigger and better things. She is passionate about acting. Summit Entertainment is a passing fad and not accomodating Rachelle will be their undoing...they aren't "all that". Neither is Bryce HOWARD who doesn't bring to the role of Victoria what Rachelle brings. Ron doesn't own Hollywood and Bryce will be judged on her body of work and won't be able to rely on her last name indefinitely. The role of Victoria is more significant than ANY of the other roles! Best wishes 2 Rachelle... hope Honey is doing well. Of course, this is all just my opinion, but lots of my friends agree.

bryce dallas howard is just trying to ride the twilight wave. It's also pretty lame all the actors didnt band together and say they wouldnt do another movie unless all the original actors were in it. I am sure if rob and kristen would have said something it would have been done. Way to stand together Twilight cast lol.

to Kathleen Collins......do you have a life outside the Twilight movies? There are many more things to worry about in this world. Movies are meant as entertainment and as an escape from ones everyday life.....they are not LIFE. I pity you as it seems you have no other interests since you are so beside yourself about this.
Actually Bryce is an awesome actress... hate that Rachelle got fired, but no need in dissin' Bryce for it. It's Summit's fault.
I think recasting her role is a horrible idea. Many fans of this will be pissed b/c its not going to be the same without her. she tuned in to victoria so well and no one can replace her.

She should have attended and held her head high, not hide... show some backbone for goodness sake and thumb your nose at the studio. This would be the last chance she had to celebrate the role and her contribution.
Kathleen, that's what I wrote: Bryce turned down the role originally offered to her because "it was too small for her." That is not rumour, it is fact and it is in print.
Bryce was in The Villiage as well as Lady in the Water. She did a great job with both of those roles. It will be interesting to see her take over the role of Victoria... I thought Rachelle did a great job as Victoria in Twilight.
I am still not over Rachelle's very premature 'dismissal' from the Twilight saga.She did not 'break' a contract.....the 2 weeks she was going to be doing the small independant movie were agreed on when she was hired for the first movie. This was a case of the producers looking for a loophole to exploit. It's extremely unfair and smells suspiciously like someone within Hollywood's ranks owed some director bigwig a favor...ala.."OK, if that's what you want Ron,... we'll stick your under achieving, spoiled daughter in our film". Bryce Dallas Howard stunk up M. Night Schamalan's "Lady In The Water'....and I thought it would have been nearly impossible to screw up something that man had written. Now she's gotten herself attached to a series of films that had become a sensation without her. This is annoying because she had originally been offered the part of Victoria in the very beginning, BEFORE filming began for Twilight, and she turned it down, probably because she didn't think the movie would be big enough for her 'huge talent'.Hollywood helps Hollywood....and Hollywood brats have the easiest time gaining stardom than actors that are 10 times more talented than they are. Now that the saga is the biggest thing this century...she wants to be on the winning team. This whole travesty was unfair to Rachelle and to the many Twilight fans who wanted the cast to remain as it was. I hope the critics and the fans don't forget this. Bryce Dallas Howard doesn't deserve to be in this film (or any other, based on her past performances).I used to have tremendous respect for her Dad, but I now see that he is just like any other pushy, over indulgent Hollywood exec....because nothing will convince me that his daughter won this role through conventional measures.
