Tyra Banks announced that her CW show America's Next Top Model would be ending after Cycle 22.
You wanna be on top? Well, it sounds like you’re too late! Tyra Banks took to Twitter on Wednesday, Oct. 14, to announce that the current Cycle 22 would be the last for the hit reality series America’s Next Top Model, which began in 2003.

“TYRA MAIL!” she tweeted, imitating the “mail” contestants would get on the show. “Thinking #ANTM22 should be our last cycle. I truly believe it's time. May your pics be forever fierce. Keep on Smizing! Tyra.”

CW President Mark Pedowitz responded to Banks’ announcement in a statement, saying, “America's Next Top Model was a successful franchise for two networks, first at UPN and then The CW, and it became not just a ratings hit, but a global pop culture phenomenon. I want to thank Tyra and Ken for all their years of success in establishing a show that was not just popular in the U.S., but all across the world."
The CW’s reality competition series was created by supermodel Banks, 41, Kenya Barris, and Ken Mok. It produced several well-known models including now-actress Analeigh Tipton, Adrianne Curry, CariDee English, Yaya DaCosta, Lisa D’Amato, Whitney Thompson, Dani Evans, and Eva Marcille.
It’s also known for Banks’ phrase “smizing,” or smiling with one’s eyes, and for her overly dramatic timing.

In 2012, Banks made the controversial decision to cut longtime judges Nigel Barker, J. Alexander, and Jay Manuel. Other judges have included original supermodel Janice Dickinson and fashion publicist and Hills star Kelly Cutrone.
