Vanessa Carlton: "I'm a Proud Bisexual Woman"

Surprise! Singer Vanessa Carlton says she's bisexual.

Speaking to a crowd of 18,000 at Saturday's Nashville Pride, the singer, 29, announced: "I've never said this before, but I am a proud bisexual woman," according to the Huffington Post.

Carlton -- who was previously linked to John Mayer and Third Eye Blind rocker Stephan Jenkins -- spawned a Top 5 hit "A Thousand Miles" a few years back.

She isn't the only famous female to come out recently: Last April, True Blood's Anna Paquin declared she was bi during a public service announcement.
