Whoopi Goldberg Reenacts ‘Ghost’ Scene: ‘You in Danger, Girl’

Pottery next, please! Whoopi Goldberg reenacted a classic scene from her 1990 fantasy thriller Ghost on Watch What Happens Live on Thursday, September 22.

Goldberg, 60, was joined by host Andy Cohen and America Ferrera for the hilarious gag. She reprised her Oscar-winning role as psychic Oda Mae Brown, while Ferrera played Molly Jensen and Cohen took on the part of Sam Wheat.

The trio re-created the scene in which Oda Mae tries to relay a message to Molly from Sam, who is dead and languishing in purgatory. Sam was mugged and murdered, and desperately wants Molly to know who killed him.

“Nothing like this has ever happened to me before. Now I can’t turn it off,” Goldberg says, referring to hearing Sam’s voice.

“What I don’t understand is, why did he come back?” Ferrera asks Goldberg.

Goldberg replies, “He’s stuck, that’s what it is. He’s in between worlds.”

The View cohost tried to stay serious watching the dramatic reading, but couldn’t help chuckling.

“Will you stop rambling!” Cohen, 48, cuts in. “I need you to tell Molly what I’m saying. But you have to say word for word, “Molly, you’re in danger.’”

Goldberg quipped, “Man, you can’t just blurt it out like that. I’ll just tell her in my own way. You ready? Molly, you in danger, girl.”

Goldberg starred in the beloved film alongside Demi Moore and the late Patrick Swayze. The Dirty Dancing star died at the age of 57 from pancreatic cancer in 2009.

Last year, Goldberg opened up about working with Swayze. “It was great fun and Patrick always wanted to be funny. And he was funny and silly and we got along, and it went really well,” she said during Oprah’s Masterclass.

Swayze even nudged her to audition. She thanked him in her Oscars speech in 1991 when she won for Best Supporting Actress. “And then I thanked Patrick, because without Patrick Swayze I would not have gotten the job, and the casting lady who cast Ghost,” she recalled. “Without the two of them, it never would have happened.”
