“I tried a little bit, yeah,” the Elf actor began. “I tried for like a year and a half.”

“I did a lot of Star Trek material,” he revealed. “In fact, I would start my act by singing the theme to Star Trek from beginning to end.”

Ferrell’s admission could not go unnoticed for Corden, who asked the Saturday Night Live alum to perform “Theme from Star Trek” on the spot for the studio audience and at-home viewers.

The celebrated actor delivered with an impressive rendition of the melodic tune that introduced the 1960s series. Penned by musician Alexander Courage and originally titled “Where No Man Has Gone Before,” the theme song had Ferrell hitting all the high notes and bringing the haunting tones.
