UPDATE: Bravo released a statement to Us Weekly following Foster’s exit announcement. “Yolanda was a great addition to The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills. Along with our viewers, we have enjoyed and appreciated Yolanda sharing her life events, especially more recently as she struggled with Lyme Disease,” the statement read. “We now respect her decision to focus on her health and family. We wish her a full recovery and hope to see her again sometime on the show.”
ORIGINAL STORY: And she’s out! Yolanda Foster announced on Wednesday, June 15, that she’s leaving Bravo’s The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills after four seasons.
The former model, 52, revealed the news on her Instagram page. “I would have loved a more graceful exit then ‘Season 6’ but sometimes we don’t get to control the ending of the chapters in our life,” she wrote to her nearly 2 million followers. “I am leaving what’s over without denying its past importance in my life. I believe that every exit is a new entry and with that in mind I say goodbye to my @Bravotv Family as I continue to focus on a my recovery, my children and bring back the privacy within our Home.”
Foster, parent to models Gigi and Bella Hadid and son Anwar, joined the reality smash in 2012. “Thank you to all the fans for your love and unwavering support these past 4 years. I am grateful for the housewife experience and all it has thought me. I’am excited about this choice and look forward to the next chapter of my life,” she continued. “#RHOBH #TimeToSayGoodbye with #Gratitude @evolutionusa @bravoandy @bravotv #WWHL.”
More recently, the Dutch-born beauty documented her struggle with Lyme disease — and the strain it placed on her marriage to Grammy-winning songwriter and producer David Foster. As previously reported, the pair split in late 2015 after four years of marriage.
“At the end of the day, David never changed, I changed,” she said on the Dr. Oz Show in March. “Unfortunately, these are the cards that life dealt me. It wasn’t by choice. But I’m not the woman I used to be and I probably will never be again. My focus, my energy goes to trying to get well, trying to make a difference, trying to find a cure for my children … and David’s life is really traveling, going to concerts, loud music. And I mean, I couldn’t, I can barely listen to the radio.”
Yolanda’s health, of course, was a big story line on RHOBH last season. She often fought with costar Lisa Rinna, who appeared to question the severity of her ailment.
