Just too cute! To celebrate High School Musical's 10th anniversary, the stars of the hit TV movie reunited (sans Zac Efron, alas!) for an amazing trip down memory lane.
The highlight of the reunion, which aired on Wednesday, January 20, on the Disney Channel, was a chance to see the castmates' original audition tapes, courtesy of Monique Coleman.
Ashley Tisdale and Lucas Grabeel's screen test was first up, showing the pair back in 2005. Then it was Coleman and Corbin Bleu's audition clip (check out Coleman's awesome laugh)! And finally — the highlight: Efron and Vanessa Hudgens' first ever onscreen moment together.
The pair are seen chatting to each other about what it feels like when they sing with one another.
"Remember in kindergarten, how you’d meet a kid and know absolutely nothing about them and then 10 seconds later, you’re playing like you’re best friends, because you didn’t have to be anything but yourself?" Hudgens asks Efron. "Singing with you felt like that."
"You're so sweet, and beautiful and perfect," Coleman squealed, while Hudgens looks like she can't believe her eyes!
Although Efron couldn't be in the gym with his other castmates, he was there in spirit and sent a message to his fans and his former costars via video.
"Hey guys, I'm so sorry that I couldn't be there in person, but I'm with you all in spirit," he said on the prerecorded segment. "My favorite scene in the movie has to be ‘We're All in This Together.' The unity, the whole cast in that moment, was just really, really fun," he went on.
"I'll never forget that day. It's embedded in my mind as one of the most beautiful days of my entire life. Thank you for being a part of this huge High School Musical extravaganza," he added. "It's become the coolest thing that I've ever been a part of."
