This Is Us

 NBC 9/26 9 P.M.

Moving on may not be easy, but it is essential. It’s the lesson Chrissy Metz’s Kate begins to grasp in the weeper’s second season. Though dad Jack (Milo Ventimiglia) died nearly two decades ago, “she’s just starting to discover that it’s not all her fault,” says the actress. “Now she has to figure out her life.” That includes launching a music career and moving in with fiancé Toby (Chris Sullivan). Metz tells Us more.

Q: Hardest part about living with Toby? It is not the same as just being engaged. The relationship dynamics shift. Who knows if they make it to a wedding!

Q: Nervous singing on the show?
Kate is on this journey of finding her voice and finding herself, so she’s not quite perfect. And here’s the thing: Bob Dylan didn’t hit every note but he made you feel something. That’s the point.
