Movie Makeovers: Memorable Drab to Fab Character Transformations

Julia Roberts in Pretty Woman

Roberts' star power increased exponentially after the release of this 1990 romantic comedy about a hooker with a heart of gold who gets paid to spend a week with a rich businessman (Richard Gere). As part of the deal -- and to fit in with his hoity-toity friends at galas and derby events -- she trades in her risque streetwalking clothes and blonde wig for elegant designer dresses and chic up-dos. (The shopping montage in this film is a classic!)
