SNL's Most Successful Cast Members Ever

Phil Hartman

Hartman was a cast member on SNL from 1986 to 1994. During that time, he performed as over 70 different characters, including Ronald Reagan, Barbara Bush, and Bill Clinton. Between seasons, he starred in movies like Coneheads (which was based on an SNL sketch) and So I Married an Axe Murderer (featuring fellow SNL comedian Mike Myers). Later, after leaving, he landed a role on NewsRadio, for which he was posthumously nominated for an Emmy. (Hartman was shot and killed by his wife in 1998.)
