SNL's Most Successful Cast Members Ever

Eddie Murphy

As a regular on SNL from 1980 to 1984, Murphy made his mark playing characters like Mr. Robinson (a spoof of children's show host Mr. Rogers), Gumby, and -- most popularly -- a grown-up version of the Little Rascals' Buckwheat. After leaving the cast, he became a bonafide movie star, appearing in films including Beverly Hills Cop, Coming to America, and The Nutty Professor. More recently, he was nominated for an Oscar for his role in the 2006 film Dreamgirls.
