EXCLUSIVE: The Hills Gets Renewed for a Fourth Season

The Hills are alive on MTV.

The hit reality show is returning for a fourth season, a rep for MTV tells Usmagazine.com exclusively.

The new season will premiere in August with 19 new episodes.

"They just started shooting," an insider tells Us. "The fourth season will be about what they ended up doing this summer. Lauren and Whitney will still be working at People's Revolution."

The Hills' current season ends Monday, May 12, with a pre- and post- show party in the Hollywood Hills (to air live on MTV). Usher and rapper Young Jeezy will perform their hit "Love in This Club."

Fans will also have a chance to quiz the stars, according to a statement.

And, of course, the drama will ensue.

On Monday's episode (watch a recap here), Audrina Patridge felt shut out by Lauren Conrad's close friendship with Lauren "Lo" Bosworth (she even told Justin Bobby she considered moving out).

"Lauren makes a heartfelt attempt to patch things up with Audrina, but it may be too late," the statement reads. "Meanwhile, Spencer fears he's going to lose Heidi forever when he learns she's taking a job in Las Vegas."

I will not be watching the next season as often simply because I don't like watching Heidi and Spencer. They make it seem so fake and the whole show just went downhill when they started showing all of their drama. I love watching Lauren, Audrina, Whitney and Lo go out and live their lives, but Heidi and Spencer just ruin it with their fake drama. So No I will definitely not be watching the next season as avidly as the previous seasons. If Heidi and Spencer were off the show then I would definitely watch it consistently.

I agree with the earlier remark about Heidis work. I know when i was younger i couldn't party till 2 am and get up for work the next day and perform to the best of my ability. I also heard kristin cavalaierri said that her and lauren never actually ever feuded like what was represented on the show. I also thought it was disgusting when lauren turned her nose up at this guy in an episode because he said he wore a cheap shirt. So is L.a really this classist? do no rich people ever have average income level friends? I mean lauren goes to fashion college surely she mixes with people from several different income brackets and she has no friends that aren't rich?? I believe that the reason they never have lauren in a relationship for long because they always planned she would settle down with steven or they wanted to keep the doors open for Jason. Lets face it jasons evil antics were good to watch lol I mean its obvious justin bobby was meant to be his replacement they even slightly look alike lol. But I reckon Jason will return and try to have an affair with lauren behind katyas back wouldnt that be good television lol toodles

I don't understand why Lauren can't keep a boyfriend. She is absolutly stunning and in a classie way too. She is very smart and ambitious. Shes a famous designer and she has a heart of gold.
I guess guys are just out to get the "easy" girls. Guys don't want to take the effort it takes to keep a great girl around i guess.
But Lauren don't give up, your absolutely awesome! You have everything to lose, so keep on going!

Don't you think there is a reason for LO to hate Audrina.

First, Audrina always played the victim saying that Justin Bobby hurt her again and again and told Lauren about her feeling. As a good friend, LC doesn't want Audrina to get hurt then she warned her not to her get involved with him. LC was just being very protective. Well, again Audrina runs back to Justin Bobby. If I were LC, I would be fed up too.

Another thing is Audrina embraced Heidi back saying that they were friends before knowing LC and she thinks that she can talk about Justin Bobby with fake Heidi without getting reprimanded from Horse face.

Therefore, this becomes a loyalty issue for smart LO who was there to see and hear everything and very understanding that LC is being a good friend to Audrina but what LC got in return is an awkwardness from Audrina who doesn't want to be open anymore since she felt like she can't talk with LC for everything. Then they are drifting apart. LO is always good to her friend :LC and never said bad thing or hurt her friend. She is very protective of LC since she cares and she doesn't want LC to get hurt by a shady friend that's all.

I will mos def continue to watch the show. I like it just the way it is and all the "drama" is every day stuff you can find in any girls life (except from driving a Benz and going out to eat every single day and flying overseas to work etc) but the problems they have translate very well into my own life also, and it's kinda like "how would my life be if I was rich and spectacular" - well, the answer is: Just the same - obviously, because they are going through the same things.
I like Whitney the best, she seems to really stay out of other people's mess and seems like a true, down to earth friend. Lo seems kinda giggly and needy, and Audrina is stuck up and kinda slooooow. But they are all cool and make up the show.

Just my 2 Cents...

That last episode was the last straw for me. I loved Laguna and I loved the Hills but seeing Heidi get a "promotion" and leave for Vegas made me want to puke. Also, the whole Spencer showing up in Vegas to talk to her thing was too much. When I already know they're together and calling the paps to take stupid staged photos then it's a turn off. Now I can understand why someone from the NY Times would think Heidi is so great. She really looks like she's doing her own thing on the show but it's so far from the truth. It used to be fun to watch but now it's not. Honestly, if Heidi and Spencer weren't on the show I'd still watch, but I think I'm just going to tune it out from now on.

I would like to say.. I think that bringing LO in the mix was a horrible idea. All she wants to do is start trouble with Audrina and Lauren... I hope that Lauren wises up and sees what Lo is doing. I personally think that Lauren needs to drop LO before it runis her relationship with a real friend Audrina. I think that LO is jealous becuase she will never be LC, and she doesnt' want LC to have any other friends.. I wish that they would take her off the show.

YAY! I'm so happy The Hills is getting a fourth season. Lauren rocks, I love her! I really hope that she and Audrina sort things out, things are not going good now that they are in the new house.

Also would Heidi pleeeease dump Spencer, he is getting more and more horrible with every episode - he is being really nasty to both his sis & Heidi.

Come on Heidi, leave Spencer and patch things up with Lauren and it'll be all good agan :)

I think LC needs to know how Lo has changed the perception we have of her. Everyone thought wow, LC is a great person and has done well for herself. Now she has this friend with her that makes her look like any other 20 year old. Immature and not so nice to be around, much less watch on TV.
