Britney Spears is no stranger to odd antics, but her behavior on January 7 was particularly bizarre.
A source tells Usmagazine.com the “scantily clad” pop star showed up at a Beverly Hills elementary school, saying she was there to pick up someone else’s kids.
(She lost custody of her own sons January 4 after being rushed to the hospital. She blew off a custody hearing yesterday.)
The singer parked her car outside the school just before 3 p.m. and spent 10 minutes smoking cigarettes and talking to herself while she waited for classes to let out.
“She was just rambling and confused,” says the witness, who approached Spears to ask if she was OK. “She said, ‘I’m here to pick up my kids.’ But then she changed her story and said, ‘They aren’t my kids; I have a new attorney, and I came to pick them up for her.’”
Adds the witness, “All I could think was, Who in their right mind would let her pick up their kids?”
As children began to leave for the day, the star, 26, caused a commotion — “It became the talk of the school. Some of the kids were freaked out,” says a school source. She was directed to a more secure entrance around back.
But before getting into her car and driving off (without any children), she chatted up the female witness: “She said, ‘You’re so nice. You should give me your number. I don’t have very many friends.’"

It might be awful not to be left alone by the paps but that's the price you pay for fame and, if it's so bad to have paps chasing you whetever you go...Why the He.. do you spent every second of your day driving around and stopping in every damn rite aid to just run around the store and get photographed.
This girl is just a stupid brat, no one can be gealous of someone who lost complete control of her life and, most important, who gives a damn about her own little kids. She needs to be kicked on the a** several times and a cold shower. Stop acting like some crazy diva and start getting your life back.

I have to say that I do feel for the girl. It wouldn't be easy to live a "normal" life without any privacy. But since when has she ever been normal?? And since when did we, the public, start demanding NORMAL celebrities?! They all seem a little strange to me. I really think that Britney just woke up one day and decided that she didn't like her life. Why not? It's happened to the best of us...just not publicly!

Britney wasn't even in LA on January 7th, she was in Palm Springs. US Magazine chooses to put a negative spin on anything associated with Britney. Do you not think that 700 pictures would have been taken of this event if it had occurred?? She never goes anywhere that paps don't follow her; they definately would have followed her to a school. i feel sorry for britney but at the same time i don't. when my baby died i acted alot like how she does minus the paps it's hard when you lose your child and u yes you do go a littel crazy after the fact you don't know which way is up or down. your so used to having this wonderful little person around and then all of sudden they are gone you don't know what to with yourself or anything so you start turning to other things like booze it took me almost four years to get my head straight and realize this wasn't helping me maybe if she was able to spend a little time with her boys it might help. she's not crazy! she's depressed and acting out like any normal mother who cares about her kids would. as for the british accent did anyone think she's doing just for fun me and my friends always fake an accent and we aren't crazy and i'm so sure that noone else here has ever talked or mumbled to themselves get real GET A LIFE

As a mother of 2, I don't feel for Britney at all!! I am sitting here fighting for my life, battling leukemia, can't see my kids for 5 days out of the week, and this BRAT has the balls to skip appointments, behave like an idiot and she does it to herself. If there is a GOD, why does he take away the talented people and leave us with boobs? Could all of Britney's activity be from the Purple Monster, mental problems or one big publicity stunt played out in multiple mini-series? Britney is used to everything being about her. Having kids seem like a big mistake for her. They are "weights" to keep her down. Now all of you real mothers, if you were put in the same situation you know that you would fight to get kids back 24-7 and do what is needed to get it down. This is not happening with her. Her kids are being pushed further away and everyday she's creating the next generation of K-Feds. As far as the court things, only in Hollyweird would Judges give her chance after chance and when she doesn't comply they give her other chances. If it was "Joe or Josephine" regular person you would have been thrown in jail immediately. I call it "selected prosecution". It's always who know and who you blow!

She is trying to do her job: being a role-model to little girls like she did almost ten years ago. Trust me, this world has seen nothing yet.
Give her a chance to make another comeback. This time, she won't drink, she won't flash her privates, and she'll practice for three to four hours a day.
