yes we celebrate christmas.
its funny what people who are NOT scientologists say about us. I can make up what I THINK some religions believe. That doesnt mean they do... funny.
If you dont have anything nice to say, why speak? isnt there anything you can do to better your life? if you like catholic stuff(just an example) go get busy with catholic activities, dont waste life talking about things you hate. perfect example....would you eat a ham sandwich if you hated it. no you wouldnt....

Katie Holmes herself designed the family's burgundy, cream and brown holiday card, Us Weekly reports exclusively in its latest issue.
The card is being sent out on behalf of husband Tom Cruise, 45, their daughter Suri and Cruise's adopted children, Bella and Connor, a source says.
Interestingly, Holmes, 28, signed the cards "Kate," which is how Cruise often refers to her. (Check out Suri's postcards here.)
Holmes (who recently debuted this shocking new do) is also playing Santa this year: "Katie has kept her staff busy doing the shopping, and even had a different gift-wrap design for different categories: family, friends, business associates," says the source.
The clan, adds the insider, will spend Christmas in Telluride, Colorado.
(Who has the power in the relationship: Tom or Katie? Find out here.)
And don't miss these shots of the couple's first year together.
Check out the latest on Tom and Katie's trip to the Italian Alps in the new Us Weekly, on newsstands now.

My advice to Katie/Kate/Xenu/(k) the artist formerly known as Katie/whatever would be:
"DON'T DRINK THE KOOLAID!!!!!!!"
so there....that's all I got..
I sure do hope she didn't pay a lot for that!
Apparently, $cientologist have the ability to suck all the vibrant red and green out of CHRISTmas.
(the grinch theme: "dada-dada-dadadadadada...you're a mean one, $cientologist Cruise"...)
And as far as celebrating this time of year, I would have thought that the late, great (haha) L. Ron Hubbard's birthday would be a much more sacred, huge deal...
You can't tell me that Katie's dad doesn't want to stick a big ol' CATHOLIC boot up Tom's a**!!
I would SO pay to see that!! :)
For once and for all, Katies given name is KATE NOELLE HOLMES.
Anon, thanks for all your info, I for one really appreciate it.
I just want to add one thing. tc is quoted as saying "I've helped hundreds of people get off drugs" He also goes on to say Narconon is the ONLY successful drug treatment program DESPITE the fact that it has never been recognized as an actual drug treatment program.....by anyone in the medical community.
My question is........if tc has helped hundreds of people....why not reach out to the many desperate people in his own line of work!!! You'd think being as gung ho about $cientology as he is he'd jump at the chance for a high profile "intervention" Imagine the member spike if he could actually CURE Pete D. in three days of his herion addiction!!
You know why? Because it, just like other "promises" by $cienos, is a SCAM. tc has NEVER cured anyone in three days of herion addiction or any other addiction, and he never will
Not that I care, I'm just curious, but why is Katie Holmes all of a sudden going by Kate? She was Katie up until she met Tom Cruise, now she's "Kate" or "Kate Cruise." She can call herself whatever she wants, but I don't think Tom Cruise's explanation that Kate is a woman's name and Katie isn't makes much sense. It seems like he is molding her into the woman he wants to be married to, and part of that is to shed her "Dawson's Creek" image so she went with Kate. Like I said, I don't care, I just don't see why Katie was perfectly fine when she was 27, but then once she met Tom, all of a sudden, it was too girlish. It just annoys me because Katie isn't a nickname for little girls only and it's a bit insulting of him to make it seem like that. My grandmother was a doctor and she was always referred to as Katie, and still is, despite being well into her 70s now. Again, it's a trivial thing to discuss, but it just seems like this is just the tip of the iceberg as to how he controls her. I'm still grossed out too by the fact that she is closer in age to Isabella than Tom (p.s. I think it's wrong to continally call them his adopted children too).
Sounds about right, Libraesque, regarding the Q&A sessions. They even have kiosks in the mall here now in addition to the people standing out on the streets in places known for party atmospheres so they can catch the drunk kids.
td, totally agree. That "adopted" adjective is totally unnecessary and insulting. If you are a parent, you are a parent regardless of how or when.

Go back and read all the posts from the Scientologists if you have time. Not just from this thread, but others. They usually show up on any Tom Cruise thread, some Will Smith. Read them all together. They follow the same script. It's creepy. "Hi, I am a Scientologist. It has helped me. Tom is great and persecuted by the pharmaceutical companies who are out to get him because he spoke out against them. People talk bad about us here. They do not know what we are like. Etc., etc." Yes, that is somewhat sarcastic, but it's the overall tone and rarely deviates from that no matter how many people have addressed questions or brought up concerns. In fact it was only recently they started posting different comments. It used to be that you got the same one verbatim on all threads. Are these people open to talking? Now, why would they not be?
Wordy, wordy, wordy. Just to reiterate something I said before, and to address a previous comment: I am not angry as I type this. Not at all. Impassioned, yes. Angry, no. Which is not to say I have not or will not be angry about this topic, but this is hardly the place.
[cont.]
Again, they can help all they want. It is the guise under which they do so that I have issue with. When the founders are those who set forth the policies that are the issue, how could it be possible it does not effect almost all aspects? It was the hypocrite Hubbard's wife who was convicted and imprisoned for conspiracy with Operation Snow White, among others.
They're a for profit company. Do you have to pay to go to any church you can think of? Yes, tithes are expected and asked, but not required in any church I know of. In fact, I cannot think of another church who CHARGES for their services. Sure there are those hypocritical preachers again, who are in for the $, but have you ever met a person who is truly living the life to those standards that is swayed by the cash? Without the cash there is no Scientology for the person seeking help or enlightenment. Unless you sign your life over, work for them, live at their place, wear what they give you, do not leave without them, get less than $100 a week, and must move up in ranks or face being kicked out.
They could do much good, but it won't outweigh they fact that they're a cult and liars. They could've saved Anna Nicole according to John Travolta. Just not their own members. Travolta of course, as many members do, completely fabricates things to make them fit into his view. With the rumors that his son is autistic (his brother made a documentary about autism) he and his wife spoke about their son's health. They said he suffered from Kawasaki disease and that is was caused by environmental toxins. All good, except that it's not caused by that nor do the symptoms of one another match. Ever read about how he speaks about his children? It's a noticeable difference between their daughter and their son. He wants to, "Share her with the world," through movies. Jett, well he likes to stay at home.
Jolee, I don't think the line is hard to draw. Either you have full capabilities and knowledge or you don't. There is the line. People who are mentally ill often do not. In cases where it is questionable- well, we don't ask that when an elderly person is swindled from say, a contractor. We prosecute. Let's think about the term "swindle" in that case: The victim pays for a promised result. They do not receive said result through lies of purposeful acts on the part of the swindler.
It's not that people have not been helped, or cannot be helped. The best lies are based upon some truth and much of Scientology is common sense, not the original miracles they would have one believe. The right person can be helped with any random thing if the time is right and THEY seek help and know they need help. Odds are it is not a chemical thing in that case, as you indicated. However, seeking help wherever you want and being PROMISED a cure and being told other avenues are evil and trying to take over the world are different things. Then you have people who are not well being fed promises of help and paranoid stories- at a cost, of course. These people, we're talking the highest ranks, accuse the government of murdering their members. If people are being helped, at what cost? Trading depression for paranoia is not a help. Let's remember they give prospective members a full on personality test, about 300 questions like, "Do you eat slow?" and, "Do you like children?" and, "Do you study schedules?" and "Do you feel the urge for violence?" and "Have you ever tried to give sanity a bad name?" What religion does this? What purpose could they have?
It's been the past year or so that they have been running commercials here and in those they straight out promise a cure for depression. They also promise a higher IQ among other things. The depression commercial is the one they run all the time now on all channels.
When will the media stop calling Bella and Connor "Cruise's adopted children"? For Pete's sake!
I didn't notice the word "adopted" on the Christmas card nor did I see "birth child" either on the card or in the article in reference to Suri.
Adoption is how he became dad to these two kids. Stop labeling them that way! They're "Cruise's children" or "Cruise's children from his marriage to Nicole Kidman." Period.
THIS is truly hilarious. Because L.Ron said so tc has said in MANY interviews that methadone was named after Hitler......he's so brainwashed he doesn't even know whats fact and whats fiction
HA!!!
holysmoke.org/narconon/narconon-lied-about-methadone.htm
a journalist went to a $cientology center once to experience what it was like to take the personality test, etc, and see what it was all about.
Some woman that was barely out of her teens "analyzed" his test and told him he needed to get into courses right away. he said he was a student and didn't have a lot of extra money...he had to buy books soon. She said "well you have a credit card don't you?" He said he did but it was almost maxed out. She said "no problem! we can fix that, how about getting another credit card??" He said NO Way! She then asked him if he would consider putting off school so he could spend the money more wisely, on $cientology courses.
At that point he said he wasn't interested. For months after he got as many as 12 phone calls a day from them, most of those late at night, asking him to come back to the center for a seminar. He had to spend un-necessary money to change his phone number and hassle telling friends/family/business associates his new number.
Jolee.....does this sound like a RELIGION to you??????
score another win for the anti-$cienos
dlisted.com/node/19497#comments
I understand what you're saying about the difference between blood transfusion and antidepressants, but where do you draw the line? It becomes one of those issues.
I know you have lots of examples of how scientology courses and dianetics (is it?) don't work, but how about testimonials from people who have been helped greatly? I think that has a lot to do with my first post: There are people who are genuinely chemically imbalanced and need medication, and there are others who have hit rough patch and think just THINK they need medication (maybe those are the ones who benefits from the Scientology courses). Unfortunately, our doctors are all too eager to prescribe it.
I have to run to the store (I know, pretty lame for a Friday night). I'll check back in a few...
But there is a large difference between needing a blood transfusion and antidepressants. Those who need antidepressants or antipsychotics are not in their best mindframe and sometimes not in their right mind at all. Jeremy Perkins in one case, previously mentioned here. A diagnosed schizophrenic, his mother would not allow him to be treated by psychiatrists. He went through all the Scientologist courses and got no better. They then banned him from taking more courses and told his mother to keep him busy. He stabbed her 77 times.

Take Wiki for what it is worth, of course. But they have the links at the bottom that can be followed.
I know there have been cases of legal intervention in the case of christian Scientists who refuse treatment for their child, but I am not sure of the outcome of those. That is the closet thing that other religions have in regards to comparisons; the treatment of lack thereof of children. And a compelling argument can be made for intervention in those cases, as a child cannot always make an informed decision.
You have lots of quotes from FBI files. How did you get those?
I'm not saying that if Scientology as an organization has done questionable, illegal things, or have preyed upon the weak, they shouldn't be investigated, or prosecuted. But I haven't seen many specific examples of that except the Lisa McPherson thing. I don't really think you can investigate/prosecute an organization for things like refusing medical attention for your child that needs a blood transfusion, or anti-depressants. If that was the case, Jehovah's Witness wouldn't be around. I think you have to look at things from a case-by-case stand point and hold the individuals responsible accountable. Maybe those running the Scientology organization are evil people, I don't know. All I'm saying is, its followers shouldn't be jumped all over and persecuted just because they believe something we may consider "weird." I understand you don't have an issue with them believing in aliens (or whatever), you have a problem with the people at the top. I think it's messed up that members of some religions would rather watch their child suffer and die, than give them a round of antibiotics, but it happens. And legally, not much can be done against people with those religious beliefs.
Sure many people in groups are hypocritical. But how many of the groups are inherently so as opposed to individuals? How many GROUPS plot such things and are sanctioned by the organization?
"to obtain enough data on the Clearwater area to be able to determine what groups and individuals B1 will need to penetrate and handle in order to establish area control."
"To fully investigate the Clearwater city and county area so we can distinguish our friends from our enemies and handle as needed"
These are quotes from the group's plan regarding Clearwater (Operation Normandy).
We are not talking about an immoral preacher caught with a hooker or the church goer who beats his wife. We're talking about a group whose policies tells them to act in such ways, some albeit on a smaller scale. The group itself promotes an us versus them mentality. Therein lies the difference.
Yes, I grew up in Clearwater. Now a little more north.
"Who am I? Well, I live where they have their worldwide headquarters, having grown up across the street from one of their compounds, watching them buy up the property that brings in the highest property taxes to declare it tax exempt and cry poor while doing so to get their fines dropped from unfinished contruction projects that take up city blocks. I have watched them buy drugs in my neighborhood when I was growing up. I have watched them cut people out of the lives of members when they show concern. I have watched them abuse their kids. I have watched them continue to smoke and drink while preaching their healthy lifestyle. I have watched them assassinate people's character in local media when they dare speak out. This area still remembers their attempts to smear the mayor who spoke against them- this is documented in the FBI files."
-----------------------------------
So there it is! You have had personal experiences. Your issues with Scientology are the same issues lots of people have with ALL organized religion: buying up property, character assassination, saying on thing and doing another (such as drinking). These things are not limited to Scientology. I'm not saying that makes it right, but I find your anger with them surprising considering none of this is news when it comes to organized affiliation, religious, or otherwise.
You grew up in Clearwater? I lived in St. Pete.
And if those beliefs allow them to prey upon others who are not totally rational, it's ok? If they allow them to segregate their members to avoid interference, that's ok? If those beliefs allow other people to be harmed when it could have been prevented, that is ok? THAT is what they do. THAT is the problem. We're not talking totally aware people knowingly making decisions, we're talking ill people at the hands of others who must abide by church rules of face expulsion despite having nothing, no friends, often no family, no money. We're talking ill people being taken advantage of by people who are in it for the money.
This is a group who has literally infiltrated groups who labeled them as cult to tear the groups apart (Cult Awareness Network). This is a the group convicted of the largest domestic espionage program ever in US history (Operation Snow White). This is a group who attempted to frame a woman with bomb threat charges when she spoke out against them. they wanted her forcibly admitted to a mental hospital or in jail (Operation Freakout). They have been convicted of Breaching Public Trust in Canada.
But this is ok?
"Funny, Proud Scientologist, how you address not a one of the concerns people raise about your "religion" after speaking of the comments written."
Their refusal to converse about concerns has exactly what to do with their take on prescription meds?
My comments about the prescription medications are not subtle. There is no proof this man killed BECAUSE of his medication. Medications do in fact help many people. The end.
Again, your comments about my supposed criticism of their beliefs is misplaced and rather ironic considering the church members here are criticising every single person who has taken medication for a mental illness, "Big Pharma", and all involved with psychiatry. Who are THEY? They are untrained people promising cures to some of the most desperate members of society, then shun them when they cannot help them. Again, there is my issue, among others mentioned. Nothing to do with beliefs and all to do with execution.
Who am I? This area still remembers their attempts to smear the mayor who spoke against them- this is documented in the FBI files.
Execution, not beliefs.
Education is a great thing. Attempting to debate in depth when you are not familar with the topic makes little sense.
5:03 PM Libraesque Says:
Not only are you a nut, your comprehension skills are lacking as well. I never said people on medication are killing people.
If you think I'm an idiot because I believe people have a right to their religious beliefs, then so be it.
whateeeeeeever you say Jolee
now lets see........what's the word I'm looking for that would describe someone who makes a comment like this:
I'm telling you: who are you to criticize others for their religious beliefs? Who cares if members of certain religions refuse medical attention, or blood transfusions, or prescriptions pills? THAT IS THEIR CHOICE...not yours.
......oh right....IDIOT
who cares???? I CARE, because when people don't take medication they desperately need THEY KILL PEOPLE.......just like the very people you are saying kill people because they're on medication!!!!
4:26 PM Libraesque Says:
You're kind of a nut, aren't you. LOL!
4:30 PM Anonymous Says:
Anon, you obviously have a problem with where they stand on prescription drugs, do you not? You don't understand how my comment is relevant to your posts???
You were complaining that Proud Scientologist didn't address the concerns people have about their religion. This is your quote:
"Funny, Proud Scientologist, how you address not a one of the concerns people raise about your "religion" after speaking of the comments written." **Pretty general and broad, and then you get more specific about anti-depressants. How was my comment to you irrelevant?
I'm telling you: who are you to criticize others for their religious beliefs? Who cares if members of certain religions refuse medical attention, or blood transfusions, or prescriptions pills? THAT IS THEIR CHOICE...not yours.
Jolee, I must have missed the part in your post that made yours relevant to anything I said. Let me try and simplify:
What would Scientology do (that has not already been done with disastrous results that they refuse to acknowledge)?
There is no proof his meds caused the shooting.
Scientologists refuse to answer or converse about any concerns other people have. They stick to their script and that is all.
So please, where is your relevance to my post? I don't give a rat what they believe in nor did I indicate that I did. I have a serious problem with how they do things, i.e., avoiding taxes, preying upon the weak and sick with lies, milking those people for money, cutting people off from their families, slandering those who disagree with them and their beliefs, etc.. Perhaps educating yourself before jumping in? By you own admission you are not familar with the so called church. Google is a wonderful thing. Many instances have been mentioned in various posts on this blog and on many threads. Information is there- if you want it. This is hardly the forum to try and educate yourself.
3:29, I am not sure what gave off the impression of anger, but I can assure that anger is not an emotion I feel when typing on a gossip rag's blog. Fabulously intelligent and mature response, BTW.
Jolee.....thats real sweet.....your heartfelt concern for someone on a gossip site....I'm not quite sure why you CARE so much
and I'm SO GLAD you mentioned tc saving people.....
FAKE!!!!
usmagazine.com/node/1599
It was also reported that the people he "saved" on the freeway were actually scientologists........it was a PR stunt
so....YOURE RIGHT I wouldn't care if tc "saved" children, because it would be FAKE
Libraesque, then I CAN tell you that I think you're highly irrational and you should think about taking some of those prescription drugs you so strongly defend. You need them.
oh....wow anon.....you just don't seem to be able to grasp the concept that you've told the world twice now that you stalk me from site to site. How SAD!!!! Thousands of people comment on thousands of sites about celebrities....but you're following me all around the internet??????? I hope the COS pays you more than the reported 2.00 an hour for that!!!
