Food Network Chef Speaks Out About Past

 "I made a couple of mistakes, and I'll stand by and take the beatings," chef Robert Irvine, the former host of the Food Network's hit series Dinner: Impossible, tells Us Weekly exclusively in its latest issue, on newsstands now. In February, news broke that Irvine misrepresented certain aspects of his background, including working with the British royal family and being knighted. "I'm trying to move forward," he says. Though he lost his show and canceled plans to open two restaurants in Florida, the married star still has his fans. "I've had thousands of e-mails supporting me, and I am truly grateful," he tells Us. Next up? "Maybe another TV show. I have a couple of things in development," he dishes, including doing more charity work with the military (he once schooled U.S. Navy chefs). "I'm human and I do make mistakes," he says. I was sorry to hear that Robert Irvine will no longer be the chef on Dinner Impossible. He made the show. I'll watch his new show on another network. You would have thought that someone in the Food Network organization would have check his references, so its not all his fault.

I think it's fairly hilarious, actually, that he pulled off such over the top bs. Too bad Robert doesn't just make a joke of it; he pulled off CV Impossible - the perfect CV for the show. This is reality at its best in the day to day of corporate America - the guy should have a parade. No one got hurt, which is more than we can say for the lying...oh never mind.

I did not turn in to Dinner: Impossible because I was impressed with the opening assertions that Robert worked for the royals or presidents, rather because of the pure entertainment I got watching him trying to beat the clock in these challenges. Is there anyone who hasn't been faced with a sudden "what am I going to cook for dinner" panic about an hour before the family expects food on the table? I have found inspiration in watching Robert succeed, and have gained great advise on how to organise and succeed in the home kitchen in a much smaller version of my own Dinner; Impossible. Thank you, Robert, for the inspiration! Best wishes. Bright days ahead.

I love Dinner Impossible and the incredible enthusiasm and talent that Robert Irvine brought to the show. Obviously, you have to be incredibly talented to put together those last minute dishes he created with the assistance of the on-site staff for those large gatherings. I truly hope he gets another TV show. It really is the Food Network's loss.

Yes, all of us lie or over embellish a resume, but COME ON!! To lie about working for the Royal Family and being knighted. Isn't that the equivilant to lying about working for the President and also being a war hero? Those are pretty big lies.
