Prior to his breakout role in Twilight, Pattinson's shirtless scenes almost ended up on the cutting room floor. "I was just trying to lose, like, every ounce of body fat so when I took off my shirt, I would look like an alien," Pattinson has said. "The idea of taking my shirt off and looking like some sort of Adonis? Everyone would just laugh." At the director's request, he beefed up for the sequel, New Moon, while filming in Italy, in May.
