You people who are so obessed with telling the world that its wrong to be gay need to be quiet. We as people dont want to see alot of things that happen infront us. People dying, being beaten, sexual harrassment, plane crashes and so on. So if someone who happens to be gay wants to kiss their significant other than so be it, noone is MAKING you look. As for Heath acting gay in a movie, nobody forced you to watch it or even hear or talk about it. I bet you didnt even watch the movie. Both he and Jake played the parts very well. Whats the difference from him playing a gay person, a nazi, a pycho who kills, etc. It's a role and thats it. He wasnt gay in real, and even if he was there is nothing wrong with that. Its ignorant people like you that make the world a tougher place to live in.

Knew from the first movie I saw withhim in it he was a special actor. Sad drugs were a part of his death. He tried to do to much.

Really? Brokeback mountain is the movie you put down. Not the outstanding performance he put in for Batman Returns. He was amazing in that movie and would have blown up his career had he not died.

Stop the violence and STOP the HOMOs from ruining normal lives. Brokedick mountain wasn't entertainment, it was shameless crap! The world was a better place when we didn't have to look at gay people feeling each other out in public. Ledger did do a good acting job in Dark Knight

This death is one of the saddest I've heard about (to me) since Diana passed away.

I always loved Heath's performances. However; when I saw Him in The Dark Knight I was blown away. Absolutly blown away. Talk about talant! I was a fan and then I became a love for His ablity to completely change Himself. Not something every actor can do. I miss Him. I also understand He was depressed from the break up with His wife and she had his daughter which was breaking His heart into. He had med's to help him deal; but I truly believe it was accidental because I'm a recovered addict and we don't leave pills in our bottles with the lids on them taking exactly as directed. He may have forgotten what He had taken and taken to many (most likely), but no intentional overdose. This is a true loss for us all. Especially for His daughter.

Almost two years has gone by since the death of Mr. Ledger, and I rank his performance in Brokeback Mountain as one of my favorite films of all time. I am straight man, blue collar, as well as white collar, very happily married, and am 46 y.o His role as Ennis Del Mar was performed with such angst, anger, discust and love not only towards himself, but also towards Jack. The scene that really breakes my heart is when he goes to the closet of Jack's parents and removes his shirt and pants. His love and anger just fill and entrance the viewer. It continues to bring tears to my eyes. One can almost see the love and discust he feels towards Jack, both in his avoidness and love towards him, as well as his confrontation of his own feelings colliding. Ang Lee created a canvas, but Mr. Ledger created the portrait. His performance trancends and embodies expectations, sorrow, hate, self loathing, and love, as if time literaly stopped for him. And that, in my opinion is what a great artist does.

Now with Brittany Murphy dead too I want anyone who ever ragged on Heath to think twice. This man was a good man. He didn't have the pharmacy like she did. Heath wasn't a know drug addict. He accidently overdosed and because of that we lost someone great. Matilda lost her father and the world lost an artist and a genuine human being. RIP Heath and brittany too I'm sorry she was so ill and had to die so young. Drug abuse is an illness. No one should die that young.
