Dress doesn't wrap her well. Too much meat!

not shaving legs is a black thing. those of you who are not african amercican would not understand. anyway, she is here to please her man, not what people think. i think she looked very eligant and the flower was a great touch. very different

How did Halle Berry end up here?lol For the record, Halle is beautiful, but she is not a talented actress. Monique really became that monster she played on screen. Was not in love with her dress, though.

What's with the flower? I don't like the dress, but at least she doesn't look trashy! About her hairy legs? Discusting, no class!

  • March 08, 2010 - 3:57pm Gemma

as a black woman, I don't agree. I think Halle was great and deserved that Oscar and she did not shame. GET OVER YOURSELVES!

  • March 08, 2010 - 3:14pm C

Natalia, your comments suck. If you would read more about Halle, she identifies herself as Black since America still adheres to the one-drop rule! If you don't know what that is look it up. Monique looks nice and she wore a figure flattering dress!

A classy look for a class act!

  • March 08, 2010 - 3:06pm jessica

"It's so refreshing to see a curvey women" hmmmm...I'm all for normal sized women...anywhere between size 8 and 15 is normal. But this woman is not "curvy". She is fat and unhealthy. She is just as distubing as the size zeros.

I thought this was supposed to have comments about the fashion not people warped views on black/mixed race actresses?! Who cares if Halle Berrys mother is white or black? Seems a lot of women have issues with mixed race women... what difference does it make? They're all actresses. And BTW, Mo'Nique looks beautiful. As does Halle most of the time. They both deserve Oscars for their acting. Halle's was acting No One You Know... its not like she was sellign ehr body to get an Oscar. It was acting! There are plenty of white and black women who have taken their clothes off in films.

i forgot to add halle is black!!! her white mom told her that

  • March 08, 2010 - 12:51pm cortez

first of all i can tell you people know nothing about acting! Halle did a superb job in monsters ball before the sex scene so dont try to down talk her. her oscar was well deserved just like mo'niques they both took on roles that made them work like never before. congrats mo'nique for a job well done and keep opening the door for black actors like myself

It's so refreshing to see a curvey women (and not a skeleton) on the red carpet and who looks stunning, to boot. M pulls this off perfectly.

Totally deserving of her oscar over everyone else's blah performance

  • March 08, 2010 - 10:36am Grrl Please

She looks great! For a big girl, she still manages to look classy and rock her curves, I thought she looked beautiful and gave a great speech.

She needs to learn how to dress properly for her body type.
