Heath Ledger was found dead today in a Manhattan apartment, a rep for the NYPD tells Usmagazine.
The New York Times first reported the news.
Signs pointed to a suicide, police sources told the paper.
Ledger was pronounced "dead on arrival."

I want to blame Mary-Kate Olsen for appearing so callious. However I think he had sleeping pills and possibly an undiagnosed sleep apnea problem. Sleeping face down and snoring and taking sleeping pills with undiaganosed sleep apnea issue could have been the route cause

Health Ledger was a supernova. I am so saddened by his passing. My heart goes out to his family, friends and young daughter. How he died is irrelevant and the speculation is so insensitive to the ones he leaves behind. He will be missed.

I am in shock about the recent death of Heath Ledger. He was an amazing actor and his career was just blooming. He was one of those people that had a bright future ahead of him. I feel for his family and friends especially his daughter Matilda. I am sorry to all her family and friends especially to us fans for not having to opportunity to see what could be for this amazing man. The world mourns the loss of someone that was way too young.

My heart goes out to Heath's close friends and family. He was an amazingly talented actor with so much potential. If it was in fact suicide, this just goes to show that like many other present and past Hollywood figures, onlookers can never truly know what lurks beneath the glamor and success. RIP Heath, we hope you find yourself in a better place.

I am just in shock over this. I hope that it was not suicide, but it doesn't look good. We will always have him in the movies. I fell in love with him in the movie "10 Things I hate about you." Fantastic movie. He had a great career in front of him. So young for it to be all gone....RIP Heath. Michelle and Matilda, my heart goes out to you.

This is sooo sad. His daughter will grow up without a father, she's soo young to understand what happened, and Michelle how is she going to explain what happened. This is a shocking death to me my fav movie with Heath is 10 Things I Hate About You.
My prayers go out to Heath's family, Michelle and Matilda.
I hope Heath did not commit suicide. He always had the look of an attitude, but that could be just the way he looks. I'm sure he was a nice guy.
