I am one of the photographers in this photograph and completely agree with the comments indicating we are NOT PAPPARAZZI. I have been a professional photographer for more than forty (40) years and I do take exception to being called a papparazzi. I have been shooting longer than that phrase has been in existence. There is a distinct and very apparent difference between credentialed working professional photographers and papparazzi. All writers and editorial staff members should keep this in mind when writing about our profession considering that we do contribute to your magazine as well as thousands of other publications and websites worldwide.

Photographers at events like this are NOT Paparazzi. They are invited by the studios to be there and work closely with the publicists and talent. Most of the photographers are trained professionals who have worked for years in their chosen filed and by calling them paparazzi you are belittling their profession and insulting their integrity and reputation. Stop being so ignorant.

Those are NOT paparazzi!!! Every photographer you see in that picture is a photo journalist that covers entertainment related events. Get it right already! Paparazzi are the scumbags you see on the street chasing celebs. Would you call a Whitehouse press photographer a paparazzi? No! Why not? The president is famous after all?
Event photographers are continually called paparazzi and it's just plain wrong! If you continue to misrepresent press photographers as paparazzi, you are just begging for a libel lawsuit!

Are these paparazzi or are they actual photojournalists? I hope US did their research. There's a huge difference between both groups - namely, professionalism and scruples.
