    Pumping gas while on a cell phone is not a myth which is why posted at most stations there are large pictures telling you not to use your cells while pumping gas!!!

    As someone who worked at a gas station for more then five years. I can tell you that using your cell and pumping gas at the same time is not a good thing and to anyone saying the explosion is a myth or that you have to have to be pumping. It does not matter. If you are on a cell phone and near a gas pump you can cause an explosion. I worked at Hes Gas station and it was our policy to tell anyone on a cell phone to please turn them off while near the pumps.

    Wow and you as parents complain our Celebrities are bad example or our children! Not every state has a law for no cell phones while pumping gas.
