Carrie was totally FLAT! Why can't they get someone that can REALLY sing? They half time show sucked. The Who are 80 years old!
If you looked closely, she HAD an earpiece in, you could hear her taking deep breaths, the microphone picked up the influxtions. She did GREAT and it was live. Pay attention people.
fyi, they had mentioned that she actually performed live & that she didn't want to pre-record the song.
It was a gorgeous rendition until that last note. And you know she's beating herself up about it. The last note wasn't great, but to me, the rest was flawless. It's okay, Carrie! We still love you! And I actually though the outfit was awesome! Boo on the haters!
Carrie was most likely lipsyncing and the sound in the stadium was probably responsible for anything amiss. Seriously the girl can SANG!!! OTOH, the outfit accomplished the impossible. Carrie is far from being fat but the outfit did make her look a little "hippie". Hate saying that but it was not very complimentary.

FYI, the national anthems are pre-recorded (didn't anyone notice that she wasn't wearing an earpiece or that the cameras didn't show any close-ups?), so all the singers have to do on the actual super bowl day is lip sync. Therefore, she should have been able to produce a more impressive vocal performance - some notes were off.
I agree with TX gal, her performance was definitely lacking. The ending was horrible!
