Why in the world, would Madonna dress like that for a groundbreaking in a country that has never seen money? That is really disturbing.

oh, but it's okay that she's wearing more money than she donated to the school because, see? she's wearing a local malawian scarf. she probably paid a whole american dollar for it and therefore fed the crafter's family for a week. let's throw her a parade and instead of confetti we can toss diamonds.

  • October 27, 2009 - 1:58pm Adopted Says:

Hey McCloud....U.S. children DO die everyday because of lack of adoptive parents. the U.S. makes it hard to adaopt children, yes that is true. I don't know about you, but I wouldn't hand over a child to just anybody. And not all children in the U.S. are in foster homes becuase they were dumped in a garbage can. Get real! If anyone needs education, it it yourself. The kids overseas may truly have no family, but who are you to say the kids in the U.S. truly dont have families? Maybe next time, you should think out what you want to say before you type.
  • October 27, 2009 - 1:45pm McCloud Says:

audsmaud...educate yourself. Boys in countries like Africa are likely the only ones to get an education. Many countries still treat women like property, not people. They tend to not educate girls because educated women start to question why they are subjugated the way they are, and the dominant men don't want women to be able to think for themselves. Its too hard to manipulate and abuse them then. so yes, 'schools for girls' are completely necessary. As far as adopting US kids, the kids Madonna and Angelina adopted would likely of DIED in the situations they are in. While U.S. orphans don't have an ideal situation, they aren't going to DIE if no one adopts them! Plus the U.S. makes it next to impossible to adopt a child, and have very few laws to protect adoptive parents if the birth mother decides to get off the crack and wants her kid back even though she dumped him in a garbage can, or if daddy the gang banger gets out of jail and learns he can get government cheese if he has a kid to support. In many cases, the kids adopted overseas truly have no family, no living parents, and no one to speak for them, and therefore no one to challenge the adoption when the child is 4 and is wrenched from the only family he/she has known.

You know I have nothing against Madonna and Anjolina wanting to help/adopt needy children. But what about all the children here in our/their own country that need a home. I would love for these two mega stars to open their hearts to an american kid with just as many needs.
  • October 27, 2009 - 10:23am audsmaud Says:

What's with all these "all girls schools" being built in Africa by celebs? No love for little boys that would like an education?
