How Much Time Will Nicole Serve?

 Ramey Photo Nicole Richie must serve 96 hours at the Lynwood County Jail by September 28 for her DUI. But how long will she really be behind bars? "Usually [the sheriff] will interpret that as a sentence of four days and have her serve two," says Santa Monica, California, criminal attorney Alec Rose. How's that? Count on a day off for good behavior, and "if you arrive at 11:50 p.m. and they book you in, you've served the day...I'd get the client in at 10:45 in case there's a line." Not sure that this will actually get a reply because I'm not sure how old this story is but here goes anyway..... if she is set to serve a certain amount of time before her due date to be in jail all the time does it have to be consecutive? I mean can she go in at 8 in the morning on Monday and get out at 9 that night? then do the same thing every day to the week till her "time" is met? I guess that sounds silly but I wonder if that would be possible?

The whole system is screwed up...frivilous lawsuits up the yin yang, violent child molestors getting out on bail and slaps on the wrist, etc. The whole system is a joke right now. Major overhaul needed!

Katie E. It's really sad that a pro football player gets more time for dog fighting than for rape too. Not that I'm for hurting animals, but when a young man goes to prison in GA for recieving a bl*w job from a consenting minor (by 2 years she was 16) for 8 years - I'm just saying the system is f*cked up.

LOVELY. 2 days in jail for a DUI....that's just great! I swear, these dui sentences are absolute jokes. If people actually got in trouble for driving under the influence (something that causes thousands upon thousands of deaths each year!) this issue might be taken a bit more seriously by drivers. It sickens me to see DUI's being taken as lightly as they are!

I heard she already did the time, but it was only like 16 hours or something and she had a blond extensions in the whole time to look like Paris.

I heard that she already served the four day (three days and a night) without anyone knowing and there is going to be a huge publicity freak-out when her time comes down to the wire and nobody knows that she already did the time.

She probably won't even come close to serving the full 4 days. She'll probably get discharged not long after she arrives. And if she is smart she'll go like the article says at 11:50 at night. But wouldn't be suprised if she out by the next day.
