...or ex-boyfriends of Simon's. And she's classy enough to have undergarments that match the outfit -- if she weren't wearing undergarments, there would be comments about that -- if she were wearing a different dress, there would be comments about that -- if she were wearing some other shoes, there would be comments about that. This young lady is well on her way to some great things -- she's much further along than Idol folk. In this case, Idol's loss is America's gain. Isn't it great that everyone can have an opinion and share it with the world?

Following four (mostly) painful weeks of watching starry-eyed singers warble their renditions of “Somewhere Over the Rainbow” and “Amazing Grace” for Simon, Randy and Paula, American Idol’s Hollywood round finally began last night. But don’t for a minute think that the peanut gallery was kind to our Hollywood kids, because frankly, last night’s semi-final kickoff was a bloodbath.
By the end of two audition days, a majority of the 172 singers who stepped onstage at L.A.’s Orpheum Theater were sent packing with a curt goodbye from Randy, who simply stated “It’s the end of the road.”
Fan faves Baylie Brown, Matt Sato and Jarrod Fowler all had strong Day One showings, but fell apart during the make-or-break second day’s group auditions.
A nasty-as-he-wants-to-be Simon and Co. continued to crush contestants’ dreams, leaving one to wonder who exactly will make tonight’s Top 24 cut if belters like Ashlyn Carr and Jory Steinberg were shown the door. Eagle-eyed viewers may have even spotted Texas teen Robyn Troup, who brought “SexyBack” to the Grammy stage with Justin Timberlake, getting cut after a painful group performance.
However, the night’s highlight was most certainly the group performance by the all-male quartet of Chris Sligh, Thomas Lowe, Rudy Cardenas and beatboxer Blake Lewis, who wowed the judges with an impressive and expressive version of “How Deep Is Your Love.” These boys have got the looks, talent and personality to make it through, but time will tell if their song stylings will merit a top 24 finish. Idol wraps its Hollywood round tonight, but for now, the fellas earned our Usmagazine.com “Pick of the Week” award.
Talk to Us: Which kicked-out contestant deserved a second shot during Hollywood week?
