for the record: L. Ron Hubbard (the "father") of Scientology was a diagnosed schizophrenic with paranoid episodes, two of which landed him in in-patient facilities on two different continents. He recieved shock therapy in the US and intensive drug therapy in the UK, all the while producing incoherent, rambling books of his "religous philosphy." I have actually tried to read one of his books, being open-minded and wanting to understand the very public meltdown of an otherwise ok actor. It ( L. Ron Hubbard's writing) is psychobabble bull**** of the purest kind. Taken as a work of fiction from a delusional freak, it is entertaining, taken as a religous manifesto akin to the bible or quran it is not even profound enough to be disturbing, it is just silly.
The "Church" has built a 'bunker" here in Humbodlt County to safeguard the precious output of the father. It is built on geologically unstable ground ( an earthquake fault). I imagine when the "big one" happens, Tom, John, Kristie, Leah and all the other nuts will hightail up here to chant and try to bring back the written basis of this nutty philosophy. This is in no way a religion. I equate Tom and his recuritment efforts with the robed nuts that used to hang about in airports in the 70's, who have made such an impact, it is hard to remember who they actually were...oh yes, "the moonies."

I think he is totally insane. The news maybe true about him but I don't think this religion helps him to be happy at all. Happy people wouldn't do mean stuffs to the others like he once did to Brooke Shields. I think he needs psycho therapy more that Scientology. 555555

I'm guessing that by setting up Scientology tents at all his movie locations is his way of NOT recruiting people.

Tom just got honored by mentor LA for helping inner city youths and schools. The pictures from the event show a happy Tom and Katie. So I don't know why the haters are so mean to him. Chill out people.
