Robert Pattinson is switching up his style for 2014. In a new interview with WSJ. Magazine, the 27-year-old actor discusses his post-Twilight career plans — and changes he's made to his personal hygiene.
"This year, I'm trying to see what my niche is," Pattinson, who will next appear in David Cronenberg's Maps to the Stars, told WSJ of his upcoming film roles. The Twilight heartthrob has also signed on for two more high-profile, highbrow projects: Anton Corbijn's "Life" and Werner Herzog's Queen of the Desert.
In addition to trying out more sophisticated film roles, the handsome Brit has agreed to be the face of Dior Homme Eau for Men fragrance. The campaign features a sexy Romain Gavras-directed video of Pattinson making out with a beautiful girl. "I like trying to do ambitious things," he explains of teaming up with Dior. "That's what got me really enthusiastic about the campaign, that [Dior] wasn't shying away from anything."
The brand has also made him enthusiastic about their products. Pattinson, known for his tousled hair and unshaven style, told WSJ that he's now added a new product to his beauty routine.
"I was a brush-your-teeth-and-have-a-shower kind of guy," Pattinson admitted. "I can't tell if it's because of my association with Dior or because I'm older, but I've started moisturizing." He joked, "It's been a quite profound chance in my life."
Since their May 2013 split, Pattinson's ex-girlfriend Kristen Stewart has also recently had a profound change in her own life. The 23-year-old Twilight actress took on the challenging role of playing a young prison guard in Peter Sattler's Camp X-Ray. At the premiere of the film on Friday, Jan. 17, Stewart had the chance to meet Sundance Film Festival founder Robert Redford.
"He was, like, 'How you doing?'" she recalled to The Hollywood Reporter. "And I shook his hand, and he was, like, 'Are you nervous?' and I was, like, 'Yeah, I'm shitting my pants,' and he was, like, 'Good, it would be weird if you weren't.'"
