Kate Middleton Shows Her Bare Arms, Wears Updo for Final Night in Australia: See the Pictures

Kate Middleton wears a Lela Rose dress on April 24 in Australia.

Kate Middleton clearly saved her best look for last!

The Duchess of Cambridge wowed in a white Lela Rose dress at the Governor-General’s reception in Canberra, Australia, on April 24, the final event of the royals’ three-week long tour of New Zealand and Australia. While the neutral color is par for Middleton’s course, the white circle-lace sleeves that basically showed the full-length of Middleton’s arms is not.

The revealing look (no matter how modest) is a stark change for the mum to Prince George, who routinely covers up her slim arms. She famously opted for a long-sleeved lace wedding dress over other arm-baring strapless or sleeveless styles for her April 2011 nuptials. Since then she’s also chosen short or cap sleeves for official events.

But, wait, that’s not all: Middleton also mixed up her hairstyles with a rare updo. While she has worn a ponytail and an occasional glam chignon (see: Our Greatest Team Rises concert back in May 2012), her go-to styles are her loose-wave blowout or half-up, half-down hairstyle.

However, for her final event down under, Middleton chose a low chignon gathered at the nape of her neck with a small side-part and height for polish in the front.

Around 100 guests joined Middleton and Prince William for the reception at the Government House in Canberra. The royals will stay at the Government House on Thursday evening before departing Australia on Friday, April 25.
