All your favorites in one place! When Hilary Duff returns to TV on March 31 with the premiere of her new TV Land sitcom, Younger, she'll be joined by many more small-screen stars. Us Weekly can exclusively reveal that joining Duff and costar Sutton Foster on the new show, from Sex and the City creator Darren Star, are Jane Krakowski, Ana Gasteyer, and many more TV staples.
Younger stars Foster as Liza, a 40-year-old woman who pretends to be 26 to get a competitive publishing job, and Duff as Kelsey, her actually twentysomething coworker. Liza must balance a demanding boss (Miriam Shor as Diana), a BFF who actually knows the truth (Debi Mazar as Maggie), and a sexy, young tattoo artist boyfriend (Nico Tortorella as Josh).
The New York City-set comedy shares more than a little bit of DNA with SATC — a creator, a costume designer (Patricia Field), irreverent humor, plus the universal plight that is dating and living in NYC — but Younger has way more workplace drama than actual sex.
Season one welcomes guest stars Krakowski, as hard-partying author and former BFF of Liza's boss, Gasteyer, as a promising author Liza hopes to publish, Martha Plimpton, as someone from Liza's past who resurfaces in her present, and Peter Hermann as Empire Publishing's big boss (and confidant of Liza's).
Recurring throughout the season are Molly Bernard as Kelsey's publicist BFF Lauren, Kathy Najimy as Lauren's mom, Dan Amboyer as Kelsey's obnoxious boyfriend, Tessa Albertson as Liza's daughter, Caitlin, and Thorbjorn Harr as a sexy Swedish author Kelsey signs to Empirical Publishing.
Watch Duff, Foster, and co. bring one of Younger's scenes to life in an exclusive video that shows how the words in the script evolve from the first table read to a finished, filmed clip.
The premiere, which is already available to stream or download via Hulu, iTunes, and other online providers, debuts on TV Land on March 31 at 10 p.m. ET.
