Designing garments exclusively using eco-friendly fabrics was the challenge for this week's episode of Project Runway and being a life long vegetarian myself, I was excited that Runway decided to give attention to a subject that is not only timely but also necessary for our future. To kick things off, Tim Gunn arrives to give the twist on this week’s challenge, and what a twist it was: the models had to choose the fabric for their designers and walk the runway! I know what your thinking: ‘Oh no!’ That was true for many, but for others it was gold. There is one more twist: unlike in seasons past, no designer received the coveted immunity this week. However, the winner’s design would end up being sold on BlueFly.com, which I guess was a mixed blessing.

Early on, we discover that Leanne is already a green designer...good work! The models are sent off to make their respective purchases at Mood Fabrics when Jerell - in his interview - insulted his model's intelligence and judgment.

Back in the workroom, many designers are unhappy with not only the choices their models made, but also the yardage of fabrics. People, when in doubt, always buy more! Jerell, surprisingly, loves his model’s choice. See kids, models are good for more than torture and worship. Blayne tickles us this week with his delicious catch phrases and his penchant for drama. He gives the audience a good guffaw with his playful gibing of Stella's reluctance to step outside her comfort zone of leather clothes, and apparently her leather children and husband as well. Suede and his desire to speak in third person to calm his nervousness is already becoming tired, though I sympathize with the need to use a coping mechanism. Meanwhile, Korto becomes increasingly paranoid about her dress that she insists is similar to, but looks nothing like Wesley’s. Who, by the way, completely overworked his garment. Stella got it right when she said you should never be preoccupied with other people's work. It really takes you off your game. As the runway show gets closer, Daniel is having serious time management problems and is visibly shaken when Tim Gunn announces that he has a mere five minutes to complete his garment.

When the runway show kicks off, the regular judges are introduced, but where is the guest judge? Heidi introduces green guru Natalie Portman, who sashays down the runway in all her petite glory. Bravo to Natalie and her vegan shoe line Te Casan. In terms of the runway show, I have to say, there were some hits but many misses. With that being said, I was slightly confused by the final choices of the judges. I really felt that Terri not only should have been in the top tier, but also should have won this week. Instead, Korto, Wesley, Leanne, Kenley, Stella and Suede are sent to the plank. Korto quickly breaks down in tears after her dress is described as having fins. Kenley is praised for her Pierrot collar dress, while Wesley and Leanne are confronted for having over-wrought garments. In the end, Wesley was eliminated for over working his garment. Suede wins for, in my opinion, a dress that looks like he sewed back together after tearing out of it in a violent rage.
