Is Isaiah Washington now gung-ho on gay rights?

Us Weekly has learned that the Grey’s Anatomy star – who used an antigay slur on two occasions in the past year in reference to his costar T.R. Knight, 34 – is shooting public service announcements for GLAAD (the Gay & Lesbian Alliance Against Defamation).

Says an insider, “Isaiah is committed to making amends.”

The actor's publicist, Howard Bragman, confirmed the ad on Wednesday. "We're gonna have — I want to say at least two versions of it at this point," Bragman said. "We may broaden our message a little."

During an October 9 on-set brawl between Washington and costar Patrick Dempsey, Washington yelled, “I’m not your little f-ggot like T.R. Knight!” Those within earshot were said to be stunned.

Months later, at a Golden Globes afterparty on January 15, Washington tried to set the record straight about the incident.

When a press room reporter questioned him about the incident, Washington denied his involvement saying, "No, I did not call T.R. a f-ggot. Never happened, never happened." But his comments only served to further bungle matters and incur even more wrath from his costars.

A week and a half later, the embattled actor checked into a treatment center for psychological evaluation.

"I have begun counseling," Washington said. "I regard this as a necessary step toward understanding why I did what I did and making sure it never happens again."

This is wrong!what has occurred to Isaiah,its completely unfair and wrong.It is not about color,who care about that!If somebody is going to rob you ,he's not going to say hey wait a minute he is the same color as me I am not going to rob him ,a thief will rob whoever has the money,so its about whether someone is a really good person or a really bad one like one of the writers here has written.I also agreed with them that T.R Knight did look really mentally unstable and looked like a very big liar in his interview.I dont like him and never really noticed his part really.I noticed and like Isaiah and Sandra O,they held all of the viewers and I couldnt wait for the marriage that! we! viewers! got the short end of the stick!after having waited so long,which made me also angry!

Personally I think he projected his insecurities and frustrations onto T. R. Knight. One thing I have to clarify is that Isaiah is NOT racist. He might have SEXUALITY DISCRIMINATION issues but, he his not RACIST! There are gay black people in this world. Also gay people call each other the F-word all the time. They even call straight men the F-word. I'm so use to hearing it here in Miami. Had no clue that it was a bad word. Honestly I thought q***r was a bad word. That was until I saw it used in the title of a Bravo show.

According to most of the comments hereI guess it's better to continue any hateful behavior as oppose to getting to the root of the issue and rectefying the problem. Acting indignant must give you guys the biggest collective hard-on.

Give the guy a break. He made a mistake. He said something wrong and inappropriate. One would hope that had another cast member made an equally offensive racist remark they would be allowed the opportunity to make reparations, just as Isaiah is being allowed to do.

Allow the guy to grovel, learn his lesson, and move on.

If you are a racist, homophobe, etc., keep your lame opinions to yourself. I am all about freedom of speech rights, but it shouldn't be at the expense of people.

If you do say these comments outloud, trying to make up for it like Mel, Michael, and Isaiah is really desperate and shallow. Rehab? Ads? How about a great big apology to your fans and the people you hurt? From YOU? Not through PR reps or other media peeps. From your. Own. Fricking. MOUTH.
