After much speculation, Usmagazine.com has confirmed Jessica Simpson and Tony Romo have split.
"Tony did dump Jessica," a source close to the quarterback told Us. "Of course, she's upset!"
Part of the reason for the break up after only six months?
"This Jen and John Mayer thing is eating her up, and she just can't handle it — and Tony has basically had enough," a Simpson pal told Us. "She's too much to handle."
The newest issue of Us Weekly, on newsstands now, reports that the day Aniston and Mayer went public as a couple, Simpson went on a four-hour drinking binge that left her so out of it, she had to call her mom for a ride home!
But there's a chance this on-again, off-again pair may reunite.
“He’s broken up with her before, but I don’t know if they’ll get back together this time," a source tells Us.
Just last month Simpson was referring to Romo as her "future husband" and he was seen ring-shopping.
And although their relationship is done, Simpson may still have an ode to her ex beau on her new album.
In the June issue of Glamour, the singer reveals that she wrote him a song called "Back in My Old Boots."
"He reintroduced me to myself," Simpson told the magazine. "I thought that I had to be deeper, more profound and more artsy. You change with the guys you date.
"Tony taught me that because he loves me [as me]. He made me feel comfortable [being myself] again," she added. (See her lick cake off Romo's face here.)
Simpson's reps haven't returned calls since denying the breakup on Monday.

I just read on e online the awful truth Mannnessa and Nick went Kaput. They are no longer together. She is seeing someone else. I don't think Jessica wants him back. Because People and E, and Access Hollywood are reporting now that Tony and Jess never broke-up. They are still together.

SHE had a chance with NICK LACHEY or LOVED HE TO DEATH and was great to her,, she just let her DADDY and career come first. I don't really care who Tony Romo dates, but when it starts to interfere with how you play football, then thats where the problem starts. You look at Romo's stats before Jessica, and you look at his stats during. There's no comparison. With Jessica, HE STUNK! Hell, the first game where they announced it, and she was up there flashing her Romo Jersey, THEY LOST! The rest of the year he didnt look like he gave a damn about football. The playoff game against the Giants showed that. In two games before Jessica, they kicked the Giants asses! Im telling ya, I know people who act different when they date certain people, and Romo is one of them. With Carrie Underwood, at least he kept that emotion, that love for the game! I hope its true that they broke up, and stays true!

It's time Jessica figures it out. She had moved on with Tony Romo so why shouldn't John Mayer move on with his life. She can only have one and with Mayer it was over. She's only hurting herself. If she cared so much about Tony that she had been talking marriage why should Mayer even matter anymore. Move on already! As for her dad, she is old enough to take care of herself, stay out of it!

As far as Jessica is concerned...well the girl just needs to go away. I'm sorry...but I never understood the appeal there. So she's a blonde bimbo...they're a dime a dozen. Look at the body language in that picture. Totally sums up Jess and their relationship in general. He's standing up, watching the game, hand crooked under chin so she can't hold it, and she instead resorts to oddly stroking him and trying to crook her hand under his elbow. Also, she's attempting to rest her head on his stiff, unwelcoming shoulder.
This is the oddest look ever. Sorry, Jess...to quote that famous book/ Sex and the City zinger...he's just not that into you.

In all of this, I kinda have the biggest problem with her Glamour magazine quote... "You change with the guys you date." Do you? I mean, do you really?
This is why Jessica's relationships continue to fail. With Nick, she was the glamazon pop princess and half of a duo that tried too hard to be pop music's royal couple. With John Mayer, she mysteriously died her hair dark, stayed out of the spotlight, and kept quiet about her relationship (a habit I bet she's kicking herself for for not continuing with Romo). With Tony, she became a sidelines footballer "wife," trying to be all "down-home" and chilling with his teammates. Who is Jessica Simpson, REALLY?
Jessica, you shouldn't have to change with every man you date. The best man compliments the personality that you've already established for yourself. Reinventing yourself for every new man is just a bad idea...hopefully, you'll see this the next time around. Be single for awhile, and find yourself.
Lastly, am I the only one who thinks the only man Jessica has ever been and will ever truly be "married" to is her father?
