James Denton

Born in Tennessee, Denton worked for years in theater before making the jump to television. His successful role as Teri Hatcher's love interest Mike Delfino on ABC's Desperate Housewives has finally opened up doors to additional projects, and Denton can soon be seen on the silver screen playing Brother John Brown in the slave rebellion drama 3/5 of a Man and starring alongside Chris Kattan in the comedy Wanted: Undead or Alive.

Denton married personal trainer Erin O’Brien in December 2002, and the couple have a son (born in 2003) and a daughter (born in 2005). He had previously been married to actress Jenna Lyn Ward. When he was in high school, he dated country music singer Deana Carter.

A long-time character actor, Denton got his start on the stage, acting for several years in Chicago before getting a small part in the TV show The Untouchables. He racked up a long list of guest credits before recurring roles in The Pretender, Philly and Threat Matrix before gaining notoriety for his Desperate Housewives role.
