Metallica Frontman's Facial Hair is Cleared for Take-Off

 Lester Cohen/WireImage.com Despite reports otherwise, James Hetfield was not detained by U.K. airport security last week on his way to performing in London for Live Earth. Britain's The Times claims that the Metallica musician was held and questioned due to what friends call his "Taleban-like beard." According to the paper, Hetfield was briefly questioned before "red-faced" officials realized he was a rock star. Today, a rep for Hetfield tells Usmagazine.com that none of it ever happened. "It's false. It’s not true.” Looks like the singer's goatee can continue to grow without getting him grounded! And I was at that show, front row, center in Montreal when he was too close to those pyrotechnics. It was a good show up unitl then...then GnR left the stage early too. Only Faith No More finished their set and it was an incredible set at that...that was a really good show except for the insuing riot.

James didn't have any tattoos until about 96/97 around the time of Load/Reload. Just look on any picture/vid/interview/album sleeve before then and you will clearly see - no tats. I've been watching them live for over 20 years and have lost count how often I've seen them so I speak with some idea of what I'm talking about!.

Lets clear up all the BS quickly...Jaymes got his 1st tattoo on the scar left from his burns that were recieved as a result of standing too close to the pyrotechnics at the GNRs/Met tour.
