very good points . its funny that most parents want more for their children than they had to get along better in the world or maybe make the world an even better or more civil place.the hilton kids for all their money aspire to making daily tabloid headlines instead of making history all because some shallow parent vicariously lusting after the hollywood spotlight through their child. its a shame that these kids cant recognize this and turn it around .but much like frankenstiens monster they just dont have the normal thinking skills to remedy their situation and saddly unlike frankensteins monster will never turn on their creator " the irresponsible parent" ..

Thank you Jamie Lee Curtis!! I couldn't agree more. Children's attitudes and actions are a reflection of their up-bringing. When a child is 15 years old going to parties every night where alcohol and drugs are present, staying out all hours of the night, and are allowed to get away with everything because their success is paying there parents rent is absolutely ridiculous. And the only person to blame is the parent. A parent is someone who teaches their child right from wrong and teaches discipline as well as tries to protect their child from a society that corrupts todays youth. It seems that many of the people that call themselves "parents" are merely DNA donors...They create this perfect child and bring it into the world and that is where there parenting begins and ends....They need to remember that a parents should keep the upper hand not the child.

I really belief that these women (Britney, Paris and Lindsay) need JESUS in their life to change them. The Rehab and Jail cannot do it. They also need to be discipline, remember you are public image and young people are watching you. Is this the picture you would want to portray?

Britney for god sake you are a mother, wake up and smell the coffee and stop being an embarrassment to your children and family.

Finally!! Someone who's not afraid to tell it like it is! Thank Goodness JLC was "brave" enough to write this as well as publish it on the web... As a mom myself- I 100% agree with her analysis... the sad fact of the 3 moms that she referenced are that they themselves craved fame, wealth and popularity as much as their daughters' did and once their daughters' acheived that status- these moms' started "living that life/lifestyle"- through them... totally backwards!

Considering Jamie Lee Curtis was a young child star, who grew up in Beverly Hills with famous parents etc. etc., perhaps she (and Carrie Fisher?) could create some kind of intervention program to help these celebutards evolve from psycho wannbe stars to healthy human beings who happen to act, or whatever it is that Paris Hilton actually does....They are all so pathetic and stupid.

There are moms, and there are Stage Moms. Big difference there. It's probably safe to say that the mothers of PH, LL, BS all had pretty skewed values before they ever gave birth and used their own good looks as currency to get what they wanted/needed. If that's part of how they survived, what do you think their darllng little girls learned from Mama? Same thing, but under the microscope of celebrity. Definitely not pretty.

I'm a mom and believe that there is a window somewhere between 5-6yo [when a kid's personality is fully formed, that's right folks, look it up!] and 12-13yo when parents have a hope of instilling values and self-esteem into their kids. By the teens the peer pressure begins to test the character and values of these kids. If the parents aren't there to support and guide them with respect and unconditional love the At-Risk kids turn into self-destructive monsters and master manipulators.

I've always admired Jamie Lee but now even more so. Congratulations to her on having the guts to speak out about Hollywood's tacky, negligent mothers! And I say mothers (and assume she does too) because it's mainly the young women of "La La Land" that seem to be going off the rails lately, and for this, one must look firstly to the mother. I'm sure there's plenty of excellent mothers in Hollywood, but you have to wonder where they're all hiding sometimes!

Sometimes parents do everything they can to no avail to save their children but not in this case. The Hiltons encouraged and applauded her dilinquent, junvenile, immature, irresponsible, selfish behavior and taught Paris absolutely nothing about basic, basic values. It's profoundly embarrassing and frightening to me that some people find these spoiled brats representative of who Americans are as a whole. In that regard, we all look like greedy, selfish, inhumane people. Good for Curtis for telling them how it is and having the guts to speak the truth!!!
