I love Jason Castro's music. He can connect with his audience like no one I've seen in years. Please stop bashing him. You are supposed to be a reputable publication, yet your credibility with articles such as this is dropping fast.

American Idol wonders why their ratings are tumbling. Here's why: The television public is getting tired of being lied to, mislead and manipulated. I personally don't know Jason Castro, but I feel like he was the most honest talent that AI has had to offer since Season 1. His honesty and integrity highly outshine that of the judges and TPTB at AI. Jason has been a breath of fresh air this season while the public has had to deal with all the shenigans that AI has tried to pull. Shame on them. Viewership will take a downward spiral as long as American Idol TPTB and the judges continue their openly manipulations of the artists and the viewing public.

American Idol is dropping in ratings, and will continue to do so. Here's why: The television viewing public is getting sick and tired of the manipulation and undermining that goes on by the TPTB. Sometimes us TV watchers are smart people. We realize when we are being mislead, lied to and manipulated. I personally don't know Jason Castro, but after watching him on AI for the past few months, his honesty and integrity greatly outshine anything that has ever been shown by the judges on AI. I'm sad that Jason was "supposedly" voted off this past week, but I have no doubt that this young man is going to have an outstanding music career, hopefully without the guidance of Simon Cowell or anyone else at 19E. Jason is a breath of fresh air in the midst of the shenigans that the judges and TPTB have fulled this season on AI. The American public is being misled by American Idol.

8:32 PM Sandra D. Says:

Shame on you, US magazine, for this disrespectful little poke at a talented young man. Double shame, for your article this week showcasing which "celebs" support these contestants! How could you show Jason Castro and not print one positive comment? You are supposed to be above this style of tabloid journalism. Great reporting...now hurry along and find another picture of Jamie Lynn Spears riding in an ATV!

Well done, Jason Castro, for facing cruel "criticism" with grace and a smile. You are a role model to others in the spotlight! Can't wait for your album.

I am a 45 year old wife, mother and Jason Castro Fan. And, quite frankly, I am sick and tired of people telling me whose singing I should like and whose I shouldn't. This young man has more natural talent than I have ever seen on American Idol's stages, and his ability to make an emotional connection with a song is awe-inspiring. Simon Cowell's opinion is of zero importance, as is Randy Jackson's for that matter. Let's see, a middle-aged attention hog and a wannabe/hasbeen....right, I think it's safe to say that they are the ones whose opinion is "utterly atrocious." Jason Castro is a breath of fresh air; a beautiful voice and sense of artistry in an otherwise routinely boring season of American Idol. This young man is going to soar, regardless of the opinions of small-minded AI judges and fall-in-line magazines, such as yours.

7:52 PM DN Says:

I personally am sick of watching all the professionals on Idol. They have pretty much planned so many activities for the contestants that, if you have not been performing all your life and just happen to know a zillion songs by heart, you have no chance to keep up. Jason Castro was a breath of fresh air---a unique individual with a beautiful, pure voice. It's nice to see someone like Jason grow each week and not already be a polished professional the first showing. If the show was made up of raw talent contestants like Jason, their ratings probably wouldn't be slipping. Wasn't that the original intent of the show?

7:14 PM JNW Says:

Really? You folks haven't stopped bashing Jason Castro yet? Folks have different musical tastes and just because Simon Cowell says something doesn't make it Truth. I happen to love this performance. Just because I don't agree with Simon doesn't make me an idiot. There are thousands and thousands of fans who appreciate Jason's fresh, untainted approach to music. The kid sings from his heart. American Idol used to be about finding raw talent they could refine. Now the producers have gotten lazy and they only want folks who are "ready to put out a CD". The show has gone downhill because of arrogance, greed, and childish behavior on the part of the judges, the producers, and FOX television. Jason was a bright spot in an otherwise completely nauseating season of AI. He will be missed and FOX will live to regret letting this cool, unique kid get away.

I think that Jason Castro has the raw talent that American Idol started out to showcase and find it heartbreaking that the judges, producers, and magazines such as this feel the need to continually bash him. There are so many people who truly appreciate his artistry. I would appreciate it if you would stop the degrading remarks. At one time, American Idol sought to advance singers; why all the sudden do they feel the need to not only invalidate Jason's talent, but also invalidate the 1000's of people who truly appreciate his voice! By the way, on the American Idol forums, the mean age of his fans was 34 years old.
