I have E.B. any thing to raise awareness. The thing that bothers me is incomplete info. This is not just a "skin condition". It affects all parts of the body...it is an auto immune disorder that affects connective tissue...many overlapping problems...many catogories. I have extreme allergies,asthma..leasions internally...obstucting organs ect.collapsed sinus..blistered gums...am on a liquid diet most of the time...I have a clotting disorder and 2 kinds of arthritis, cronic neuropothy, extreme nerve pain. I get infections very easy. The worst thing.....my little baby grand daughter has it,too. I am unusual as I am almost 50 years old and still living...

Courteney Cox and David Arquette have some friends in high places.
The two are calling on their celeb chums to help them raise $1 million in two weeks for Epidermolysis Bullosa, a rare skin condition that affects children.
On board? Jennifer Aniston, Orlando Bloom, Kate Beckinsale, Rashida Jones, James Marsden and Eva Longoria Parker.
The A-listers will lend their faces — and wallets — to the Epidermolysis Bullosa Medical Research Foundation, where Cox, Arquette and Aniston serve on the board.
Aniston's ex, Brad Pitt, and pals Gwen Stefani and Gavin Rossdale are also members.

Do we really need to disect how much or to what charities, certain celebs are donating to? The mere fact that they are willing to use their celebrity staus to do some good in raising awareness about certain causes, and in particular Epidermylosis Bullosa (EB)is powerful enough for me. I just lost my 2 month old twin nephews, Kyle and Zack, to EB and I can tell you first hand that it is a devastating illness that nothing in the world can prepare you for. Any exposure is good exposure if it can bring about knowledge, awareness and financial resourse to help combat this illness. If someone thinks they are just trying get credit for announcing it, so be it have your opinion, but in the end it is still the awareness of EB that we are trying to spread. I and everyone in the EB Community thank all of them for their efforts!
Anytime anyone donates to a charity it's a good thing! Because those who suffer get results & the help they need. Good for Jen, and any other celebrity who takes time out to do this.
Create awareness, inform people, and donate!

Do you mean New Orleans‘s people getting help by two monkeys to built their homes?
Please give two people look like monkeys a break.
Only Angelina Jolie fans would make light of a disease was horific that affects children. Angelina Jolie fans are missing souls. Your idol should be very proud of you.
People on this thread need to get one thing through their biased heads, you could be a fan of either Jennifer or Angelina, that doesn't give you the right to make assumptions about their real intentions when taking part in charities and raising awareness on causes that are killing people everyday, because you don't know them!
So in reality it's extremely dispicable and disgusting that one person is doing something to help improve these innocent childrens' health because truthfully they have that certain power, and your going around accusing them of being an attention seeker instead just because you happen to have been influenced greatly by the 'always so humble and honest' media in basing your opinions about these people and what they are really like outside the celebrity world.

Wow, not only are you delusional, but you are also stupid. You don't know anyone here on this board, so stop trying to pretend you can read into people from a few comments, Dr. Phil. Some of us donate A LOT to charity and that's why this topic interests us enough to make comments at all!
3:17 r u kidding me. its the other way around aj is trying her best for everyone to like them even hollywood. Jen was always liked. Great job getting rid of bp.
3:25 yep your right i never seen such 2 beautiful woman. jen has good taste. aj definetly didn't.
1:11 and others don't you get it, they aren't bragging! They aren't tooting their horns. They are connecting their name to a charitable organization in order to raise awareness. Maybe Jen and Courtney are going to match what they raise? You don't know the details.
If what you're saying is true, why hasn't anyone brought the absolute selfishness of the Bill & Melinda Gates foundation? How DARE Bill and Melinda start a foundation, give billions of their own money then PUBLICIZE the good work that they've done. HOW SELFISH!
Or better yet, Bono. Look at all the publicity he's brought upon himself. What a freakin' braggard! George Clooney, too. What jerks. Someone should stop the madness.
Don't these people know that they should just quietly donate money and keep it to themselves?
JEN AND COURTNEY GREAT JOB!!! JUST DON'T EVER BRAG ABOUT ITS PERSONAL AND PRIVATE AND IT COMES FROM THE HEART. THATS WHAT MY PARENTS TAUGHT ME. GOOD JOB MOM AND DAD LOVE OOOH
I sure all stars give to charities, except one thing no one brags about it, it private and personal and very sacred who you help. not like aj and bp brag b/c they need everyone to like them, but not doing a good job you both still aren't like by even hollywood. they exploit you for the attention bring on b/c you embarring and people just are laughing at you. HA ha
Dear 11:22. If you will look back you'll see that I wasn't discussing the Jolie-Pitts, I wasn't even thinking about them when I wrote my comments. I was discussing your views on Jennifer Aniston's alleged need to brag everytime she donates money to a cause.
Good deflection, though, because I asked if you were generous. Since you didn't answer I will assume that you are not.
If you knew anything about marketing and fund-raising you would understand that having celebrity sponsorship helps make money. Do me a favor, instead of insulting Jennifer Aniston and praising Angie why don't you google the EB Foundation, Doctors Without Borders and other causes that the celebrities are supporting. Find one that has meaning for you then donate anywhere between $1-8 million, whichever is more comfortable.

"8:17 PM Anonymous Says:6:23--You're the delusional one. Jen announced she gave $1 for Katrina victims to ONCE AGAIN raise awareness and throw out a challenge."
So, Jen would never make that announcement for PR? Basically, whatever Jen does is right and good, while the $8 million Brangelina donate is only for PR. One person is good, while the others are awful. Spare me the one-sided hypocricy, please.
Anonymous 9:43: Courtney and Jen have been involved with this charity for many years. Do you really think they have never given any money to the cause? I doubt it.
It is really sad that you feel the need to belittle someone that is doing something for charity. Don't worry about how much money Jen gives to the cause....just worry about what you are doing for the cause (or any other cause that you like). Every little bit helps.
Anonymous 11:22:
I don't think the 8 million dollars was an announcement for PR. I actually think someone just leaked their financial statements to the press. I don't think they have anything at all to do with the fact that it was announced.
I really believe that all three of them work for the causes they believe in and do it with their heart not for attention or PR.
It is really sad that some people feel the need to go around comparing what they do. Each person has a right to invest whatever amount of money they want to whatever cause moves them. As long as everyone does something a lot of good gets done. Why waste time trying to belittle what someone is doing for charity?
Shawne 6:20: Giving to foreign charities is also a tax write off if they are recognized in the United States. Doctors with out boarders, the UN etc. qualify.
Even so, I don't think Brad and Angie give for the tax write off. It appears they are really interested in helping others not themselves.
It is very likely Jen gives money to charity. She has worked with St. Judes for many years. She also donated to Katrina victims. Courtney Cox has worked for this cause for many years as well. I am sure Jen is giving some of her own money to the cause.
Why are you investing your time trying to disect how much and to what Jen is giving her money to? Brad and Angie should worry about their finances and charity work, Jen should worry about her finances and charity work, and you should worry about your finances and charitable contributions.
Anonymous 12:23: The fact that Courtney and Jen are raising awareness does not mean they are not giving money to the cause. The people involved in raising awareness usually donate money themselves. You have no evidence this is not the case in this situation.
Brad Pitt works to raise awareness in New Orleans. He also donates money to the cause. Since when is raising awareness bad? Do you think it is constructive to invest your time criticizing someone that is working for charity?
"8:17 PM Anonymous Says:6:23--You're the delusional one. Jen announced she gave $1 for Katrina victims to ONCE AGAIN raise awareness and throw out a challenge."

Jen and Courtneney could easily donate the million dollars themselves. Remember they made $1 million per episode on Friends. Seems hypocritical to try and raise the funds without donating any from their own pockets.
6:23 -- You're the delusional one. Jen announced she gave $1 for Katrina victims to ONCE AGAIN raise awareness and throw out a challenge. None of us has ANY IDEA how much Jen or others have donated to worthy causes. If US Magazine told us every time a celebrity donated money I expect we'd be amazed by the generousity.
What percentage of your income or time did YOU donate to charity last year? Are you generous? Probably not based on your insulting comments to the prior poster.

Get real. She is not giving any money, but only raising
awareness (asking others to give!). If Jen gives money,
she would announce it! Just like she did when she went on
Oprah to tell the world she gave One million for Katrina victims. Stop apologizing for Jen. you seriously sound
delusional.
Bet:
Whoever you are, please learn how to spell correctly before you make anymore comments. You have the spelling of an 8 year old and nobody understands what the hell you're saying.

Instead of asking others to give money, Jen should write a check. She has 110 million in her bank account. It's nothing to her. And, it would be a tax write-off.
Meanwhile, Brangelina has given $8 million in cash to their charities. And, giving to foreign countries is not a tax write-off, only domestic counts for taxes.
A person can raise awareness, raise money, and donate their own money at the same time.
Many people don't brag about their own donations when they're trying to raise awareness because some people may think, "oh, she donated 10 million but I only have 1000... my amount is melee compared to hers so I'm not even going to embarass myself by donating such an insignificant amount"
Not publicizing your own donations is a way to not let other people feel that their donations are insignificant.
Every penny counts.
So I applaud that Jen is not publicizing and bragging about her donations. But at the same time, she's still bringing awareness.
Very smart.
you people really need to think before making such ridiculous comments.
First off... raising money and awareness means to let the public know about this disorder so that way there will be continuous funds for research.
second... research costs millions and millions of money. My boyfriend works for a researcher and they just got a $50 million dollar grant for this year alone, but that still isn't enough money to find a cure for cancer.
It requires continuous amounts of money, time, and research that you people obviously don't know too much about.
even if she donated $50 million... what happens next year when the research funds run out?
And just because someone's raising awareness doesn't mean they're not donating money themselves.
Anonymous 3:17: Courtney Cox has been working for this cause many years. I am sure Angelina Jolie is not on Jen Aniston's mind when she works together with CC to raise awareness for this cause.
Jen and Courtney should get married. They make a cute couple.
Jennifer is just trying to be like Angelina. Too late, Brad ain't coming back!
How pethatic are they loones are in here in jen thread about helping childern with sickenss, but they are complaing blha blha whaaaa whaaaa how people hate Anglina no one even talk about her expcept themself bringing her in thread were the talk about is childern who are sick need hellp. How pethatci are you guys.
and also , while cox and Jen are tring to make awarness about childern who are sick. there are loones who make awarness about braglina how much they donate. How much pethatic can the loones get.
If you think one million is pity. then your idol each of them donate from their pocket only one million. half of it comes from selling thier childern picture. considering the amount of money they make on that year alone is very pity. and also they are two peopel who bring big check to the house so when you divide half after you take out the childern picture that means they donate each one milllion only. come on the amount of publicty they get just for one million that comes from each pocket is pity in your mind. I am not say they did good job. Every body did good lets apprciat everyobdy. even the story of that give to charity was a news for howmany years now/
