Us Weekly's Style Icon of the Year, Jennifer Lopez, and the rest of Hollywood's top style makers, sizzled on the gold carpet at the Us Hot Hollywood Style party Thursday night at L.A. club Sugar.
Fellow Us-annointed style winners Lindsay Lohan (honored for her red carpet savvy), Ashlee Simpson and Carmen Electra also did their part to raise the temperature at the annual fashion-fest, with Lohan telling UsTV that she had tried on three dresses before exhibiting her inner ballerina in a sexy beige, cream and black dress.
Lopez, who arrived at the bash with husband Marc Anthony in an elegant white Ralph Lauren pantsuit and Versace shoes, was honored for her signature style and glamour—a distinction that took her by surprise.
"It was unexpected," she told Usmagazine.com of receiving the top prize. Still, Lopez wanted to make sure she dressed to impress, telling Us, "It took me two hours to get ready, like every other girl."
Past winners of the magazine's annual top style honor have included Jessica Alba and Jessica Simpson. This year, in addition to handing out a top prize Us recognized the "Hot 7 in '07" -- singling out seven men and women, respectively, for their outstanding fashion sense.
The men -- including Eric Mabius, Ryan Seacrest, Pete Wentz and David Arquette -- looked like they spent time primping and prepping for the party.
Seacrest impressed in a Dolce & Gabbana suit and the always entertaining Arquette showed up in a flashy hat and pinstriped "gangster" suit, a getup he referred to as his "Zoot Suit riot."

I'll admit she has some fashion sense. Also you have to give Diddy some credit. He is the one that hired her stylist and makeup artist, for her JLo promotion makeover. Ever since that drastic makeover in 1999, she has been looking great. Unfortunately lately her hair seems to look the same. Straight high ponytail, curly high ponytail, curly wavy hair, straight hair, and the low curly ponytail. In fact she is sporting the low curly ponytail in the above photo. I miss her youthful edgy fashion style. Now a days, she looks like a high fashion politicians's wife.

J Lo is a classic talented Lady. Marc is an excellent singer too. Besides being a wonderful singer, she is also a talented dancer, actress and fashion designer. Fur is a wonderful thing to wear. It is soft, warm, and isn't made of plastic.

US... this is all very sweet, but I assume the Year in question is... 2003? I love me some J.Lo, but we've had no music or movies from her since 2005*. If anything, I am saying the award is overdue, but still ill-timed.
*fine, Bordertown was out this year, but we still don't have a release date in the US for it.
