Jessica Simpson may be returning to the small screen.
She is in talks with CMT to star in a special chronicling her life as she records her upcoming country album.
"We have had exploratory talks with Jessica's camp, but nothing has been confirmed or signed," a CMT rep tells Usmagazine.com.
Her rep tells Us it is "not for a reality show. Jessica is finishing her country album in Nashville. They’re in talks with CMT for a special timed to air when the album is released, but there’s no truth whatsoever to there being a reality show.”
Simpson, 27, rose to fame on her MTV reality series Newlyweds, which tracked her day-to-day married life with Nick Lachey.
In a recent interview, her father Joe hinted that a reality show may be in the works.
"With Newlyweds, she let everyone into her world," her father Joe told Entertainment Weekly.
"Then she had to shut the world out. Now she can open it up again so people can see, here's a girl struggling with self-esteem and finding her way. Country music is about storytelling, after all."
Simpson has been dating Dallas Cowboys quarterback Tony Romo, 27, for three months.

I'm sort of a new fan of Jessica..I never watch Newlyweds nor have I ever buy her CDs..but, recently I manage to watch the Fourth season of Newlyweds! Omigod, she's sooo cute!!! Now I understand why many people adore her...she has that warm and lovable personality that stole my heart. She doesn't seem like a diva at all. In fact, she's kinda dorky to me. Yes, dorky. But extremely adorable. The way she talked to her dog Daisy was also funny and cute! And, I don't think she's dumb at all. I heard about the chicken/tuna story in First season but in the Fourth Season, she seems alright me. People say she's retarded n stuff like that..it's ridiculous! She's just "normal" like the rest of us. Only sometimes she lack general knowledge of certain things..I heard she quit High School halfway, maybe that was the reason. If she starts to read more, I'm sure everything will be fine. Anyway, this Fourth season was recorded in 2005. Maybe by now she has really improved. She sounds more mature now anyway. People do grow up and change..

Even without Newlyweds in the beginning, her album can still sold 4-million units. I'm pretty sure she can survive on her own, just like any other artists..as long as they put in effort into their albums..

I agree that her vocals is not on the same level as Carrie Underwood, BUT she can still be successful provided there are many good songs on her album plus she sings properly. The girl can definitely sing, I've watched some of her performances and she sounded fantastic whenever she uses her soprano-style tone. She only screwed up when she uses her breathy child-like tone. I hope someone told her that.

She gives off an extremely annoying vibe and she emotes like crazy and sounds like a duck when she sings. Her problem is she has little credibility now. She should have released this so called country music album instead of the godawful Public Affair. That's why she's working with all sorts of big names in order to lend credibility. i enjoy reading updates about her country album MUCH MORE than gossips on her love life...seriously...it's the MEDIA who scrutinize her every step...they approach eye-witnesses and onlookers to report on jessica's life...just accept the truth, u haters...the general public are STILL interested in her personal life...it's not her fault...

i like the voice of jess, i think she should use more the tones of thicker voice and to do some sounds in which some moments she talked, for give "touches" easy-going, it would be cool if she did a mix with rock as well, staying thus a country/rock, would give a more imposing "air" ...more auto-confidence music!
