Jessica Simpson stepped out Wednesday for the first time since being hospitalized with a kidney infection.
The singer, 27, joined sister Ashlee, her boyfriend Pete Wentz and mom Tina for a lunch at El Torito in Encino, California.
"Jessica was walking very slowly with her hand on her back. You could see she was in a little bit of pain," an eyewitness told Usmagazine.com of Simpson, who wore sweats and Uggs. "She was dressed down and trying to stay low key."
During the lunch, "Jessica picked at a salad and didn't eat much — but she was in good spirits and was laughing very loudly with her sister," the witness added.
Simpson went home with her mom, who is staying with her while she recuperates, the source told Us.
Simpson was admitted to Cedars-Sinai Medical Center March 28. On Monday, her rep told Us she "has left the hospital and is doing fine."
Boyfriend Tony Romo, 27, did not join the group for lunch.

Lisa, the kidneys ARE separate from the bladder, connected by the ureter. Untreated bladder infection can travel to the kidneys, but saying they are the same thing is like saying the throat is the same as the stomach because food passes through it. Two kidneys, one bladder, connected by the ureter. Infections in one are not necessarily connected to the other.

Ummmm the kidney and bladder are NOT separate. The water u drink is first processed/cleansed in the kidney, then to the bladder where it is stored as URINE. So they ARE connected! That is why bladder infection can lead to kidney infection if not treated.
And for you people's info, UTI(Urinary Tract Infection) is NOT always caused by sex. My bestfriend is a virgin and she got UTI because she always hold her urine. If you don't urinate regularly, you can also get UTI.

12:26. The bladder and kidneys ARE separate, dear. While untreated bladder infections can LEAD to kidney infections, they aren't always related. And no-one needs a body "map"(???) to discern that. Additionally, bladder infections occur at all stages of life, sometimes in those not sexually active. While they CAN be connected to vigorous initial sexual activity, they aren't always. Get off your high horse.

To those people who brag about how kidney infection never got them hospitalized, FCUK YOU. Just because it's no big deal to u, doesn't mean other people feel the same way, u morons! I got kidney infection before and it was DAMN painful. I was hospitalized for 5 days. And, if not correctly treated, it can result to kidney failure and even death! So don't treat it lightly.

I am always amazed at the comments I read on here! Yes, you can be hospitalized for a kidney infection.My doctor told me I would have been had I not sought treatment.And for those who are saying she is pregnant - um, first of all do you personally know her? If not, you should not spread a rumor that makes her look bad! GIVE ME A BREAK! Second, unless you have had an infection don't judge. They hurt like hell - I was doubled over in pain when my former roomate took me to the emergency room. She does not exactly look like she is having the best time! And it does make your back ache as well. Stop judging people when you have no clue what has happened to them!

Moron. My mom, who is NOT a celebrity almost died from a kidney infection and yes she did go to the hospital and was given intravenous antibiotics and hospitalized for 5 days. Just because YOU haven't, doesn't mean PEOPLE don't. Idiot.
Oh and to the retard that said Bladder infections have nothing to do with sex... it does... and to the person that said that bladder and kidney infections are separate might want to look at a map of the human body. My mother's infections STARTED as a bladder infection and left untreated spread to the kidneys and then to the blood! It's shocking how many stupid people post on here.

Tony is a pro football player. It's hard to believe that he can't get a weekend leave to be with his beloved when she is in the hospital with a serious kidney infection.
That's why people are having a field day with her oh so lovely appearance in the above picture. She is clearly in pain, and has been ill. Bottom line, if he really cared for her, nothing would have stopped him from being with her.

I think it's odd that Tony did not fly out to be with her after she was hospitalized for a kidney infection. That can be a very serious medical condition. If he is as in love with her as the Simpson Family and Jessica herself would have you believe, he should have been there. I guess it gives good insight as to how serious their relationship really is.
