It's lights out for John Mayer and Friday Night Lights star Minka Kelly.

Sources confirm to Usmagazine.com that the couple, who began dating last fall, recently broke up at Mayer's request. "John initiated the split," says a source. "He just wasn't ready to commit to Minka or to anyone."

Mayer, 30, who broke up and got back together with ex Jessica Simpson several times earlier last year, was spotted partying with other girls (including Cameron Diaz) in New York City over the last month while Kelly, 27, was in Los Angeles. Says a source: "She was disappointed to say the least. She was really happy but wanted a full commitment."

A source close to Mayer tells Us, "From his perspective, he is single and has been seen out with her. Nobody ever said he was planning a wedding with anyone."

A rep for Mayer declined comment and a Kelly rep couldn't be reached.

He'll settle down at about the same age Warren Beatty did. Until then, he'll capitalize on being the guy no woman can tame, which makes even someone as unattractive as he is irresistable. Each girl thinks SHE'LL be the one to have a lasting relationship with him, and soothe the savage beast. Won't happen. Jessica did pretty well to last 9 months.

I agree that Jessica makes the right decision to leave him for good. I'm also sure I have saw her profile and recent photos on a age gap dating site called agelessfriends.com. Seems she just starts her blog discussion some gossips there. Is she dating someone her senior there? This is what she wants? Nowadays online dating or relationship becomes a popular way to find friends or penpals. It's not weird. No matter what, hope both of them best luck and find their last happiness.
