Jordin Sparks Did Not Suffer "Career-Threatening" Throat Injury
The singer is expected to make a full recovery after canceling 3 weekend appearances
American Idol’s season 6 winner Jordin Sparks has not suffered a career-threatening throat injury, despite published reports of an "acute vocal cord hemorrhage."
The 18-year-old singer, who recently performed on Idol’s April 10 results show, was set to join Alicia Keys and Ne-Yo on a nationwide summer tour Saturday, but was forced to cancel a string of appearances as she remains on vocal rest due to the normal rigors of performing.
“Jordin is on vocal rest and is expected to make a full recovery,” a spokeswoman for Sparks’ Jive Records label said in a statement. “There is no life-threatening issue. She's slated to join the Alicia Keys tour in May.”
