The thing is everybody is there own boss and feels that they can do whatever they want. The Bible bans premarital sex and if people want to "keep the Bible out of there bedroom" then they are not following there religion. Similary in Islam (religion of Muslims) and in Judaism (religion of jews) premarital sex is banned and is a great sin. What people have to realize, is they are given free will and have the ability to do whatever they want, but if you are going to associate yourself with a religion, then you should follow what it says. God has plainly put out the things that are wrong to all of mankind in the 3 books, Bible, Quran, Torah. It is upto us to follow them. One of the signs of the Day of judgement is that people will stray away from the commandments sent down by God and will seek pleasures in this world. BTW I am not some religous freak, Im a 21 year old guy born/raised in New York and exposed to all types of people so its not like I have grown up in a small religous box that I haven't been exposed to the desires in this world. But I realize that this world is temporary and the next one is everlasting and that is the one I would like to earn.

Wanting to save your virginity has absolutely nothing to do with god or christianity. Me and my boyfriend are both saving ourselves, and it is not because we think we will go to hell. we dont even believe in hell, or god, or anything. We are both atheists. all these people who are christian and are saying having sex before marriage is good, and a smart thing to do, your ignoring a huge part of your religion. I am proud of jordin for trying to save herself, and no matter what her reasons are behind it (whether it is foolish religion, or if she is just trying to be a good person), i support her with it. I'm not one to preach...and if you decide to wait or not, it doesn't make one person better than the other.
So, here we have a young, possibly naive girl who has committed herself to purity...and some of you are bagging on that?? Why? Because you don't think she can keep such a promise? Or...you don't think she can get laid? Or...because Britney Spears said the same thing a few years ago and didn't keep her promise?

I think the negative reaction to something (which I believe) is so positive (keep in mind our country's teen-pregnancy rate, the UNWANTED pregnancy rates, and the rampant spread of STD's)is a PURE reflection on the morale of our youth in our Country today.

I married @ 19 and both my hubby and I were virgins(by choice) Our wedding night was the most memorable event of our life. The best part about having been 'untouched', was that neither one of us brought our 'dirty laundry' into a brand new marriage. Eight years married now, with two girls, I'm still so proud to be able to tell people, that we began that intimate journey together with noone else to share it with. Imagine how many successful marriages would be out there, if more couples committed to that one man in their life. Divorce rates would drop, and there would be less adultery among couples who nowadays can't keep their pants on because of their previous lustful involvements. It makes me sick to my stomach when a girl is so willing to hand her body over to a guy that probably won't mention her once he gets his fill and moves on to the next.

First off i'm curious, how many people dissing her are christians? and no you don't have to be one to honor what the ring stands for. but how many people out there lose their minds when they see the ring and start the jokes. meanwhile they have the cross dangling from their neck. i never see people walking around saying " a cross? what are you, a christian? why did you go that. throw that thing away and go sin freely." yet you hear "true love waits ring, what are you a virgin, why. its fun! throw that thing away and go get laid." but seriously her choice is her own, and who are we to judge or dictate what she should and should not do with her body. we should just wish her success. for the record there are a lot of voluptuous women out there who are not virgins so that doesn't have any relevance. i'll end with this. the topic is about choice. i am 30. i have list of women who want to sleep with me. obviously i made my choice. i too wear the ring.

Jordin, don't listen to a word these people say. They have no clue what they are talking about. I've made the same vow that you did and I know I did the right thing and when I find the man that God wants me to spend the rest of my time on earth with I know I'll be very glad I waited for him. Obviously, your parents care enough about you that they don't want you to mess up and that's why they gave you the ring.

As for all of you who think it's "Christian Brain Washing", I really don't think you get it. Not only did I take that vow because of my beliefs. I did it because I love myself enough to keep myself pure and to keep myself from falling into trouble( Pregnancy/STDs/etc.). I guess you guys don't understand. You can be as careful as you want, but the only way you can keep stuff like that from happening is abstinence!
